r <br />Mayor Pro Tem Burnett referred the petition to the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />for their study and recommendation, and called for a public hearing at the next <br />regular Council meeting. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Burnett announced that the next order of business would be consider - <br />ration of recommendations made by the Traffic Commission. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Burnett requested the Council's attention to the three recommendations <br />made by the Traffic Commission, that being a stop sign on East Polk at 8th Street <br />S. E., a no parking zone on the west side of the 100 block of 3rd S. E., and a no <br />parking zone of the west side of 24th S. E. between Clarksville Street and Jefferson <br />Road. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by <br />Councilman Wortham authorizing the preparation of an Ordinance for consideration <br />at the next regular Council meeting. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. Bob Day, Rauscher & Pierce Securities Corporation, appeared before the Council <br />and discussed the proposed issuance of $650,000.00 certificate of oblication. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2554 <br />DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE CERTIFICATES OF OBLICATION <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by Councilman <br />Williams for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. Ray Spencer, representing the Red River Valley Exposition, appeared before <br />the Council requesting a 25 year lease with a 15 - 20 year option. City Manager <br />Sokoli advised that the staff had recommended a 10 year lease with a 10 year <br />option, and that the present lease had 4 and one -half years remaining. <br />Resolution No. 2080, authorizing the Mayor to execute on behalf of the City of <br />Paris a lease agreement with the Red River Valley Exposition Inc. was presented. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by Councilman Wortham for <br />adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
