237 <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />May 28, 1981 <br />The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Thursday, <br />May 28, 1981 at 7:00 P. M. Mayor Burnett called the meeting to order with the <br />following Councilmen present: W. C. Francis, Travis Wortham, Kenneth E. Kohls, <br />Joe Graham, and Larry McGee. Also present were City Manager, R. W. Sokoll, <br />City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. Greene. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented the Proposed Budget for the fiscal year 1981 -82, <br />and requested that a public hearing be set as required by Charter. <br />After discussion, Mayor Burnett called for a public hearing on the Proposed <br />Budget for June 8, 1981 at the regular meeting of the City Council. <br />City Manager Sokoll gave a report on the proposed right turn land at 12th <br />Street and Lamar Ave., and stated that he felt that right of way would be <br />obtained withing two months. <br />City Manager Sokoll requested authorization for the preparation of a Resolution <br />opposing the proposed hazardous waste dump site in Red River County. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Kohls, seconded by Councilman Graham authorizing the <br />preparation of a Resolution for presentation at the next regular council <br />meeting. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Discussion was had on appointments and re- appointments to City Board and <br />Commissions and the City Council was furnished names of those persons who terms <br />expires during the calendar year 1981. <br />,. <br />City Manager Sokoll discussed with the Council Street lighting cost and <br />alternatives. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />BILLY J.
