2f�() Mr. Jess McGee, 1275 22nd N. E. appeared before the Council stating his concern over salaries. Mr. James Holland appeared before the Council stating his concern over paving and water and sewer on 31st Street N. E. north of Pine Mill Road. Mr. Wade Glover appeared before the Council in behalf of Lamar County Youth Services Program stating that he would be requesting funds for the 1982 -83 fiscal year. A Mr. Stoddard appeared before the Council stating that he was not in favor of the warning system to be purchased for the General Fund, but perhaps be an item for future bond issue. Mr. Paul Daniels appeared before the Council in behalf of the Senior Citizens Council for funds from the Revenue Sharing Fund for the Senior Citizens Council. No other citizens appeared and the public hearing was declared closed. I During discussion Councilman Graham stated that he would like to see the secretary for the City Attorney not replaced, the deletion of two patrolman and $50.00 increase over that already planned for Lieutenants, Sergeants and Patrolmen, and Asst. Chief, and also the Emergency Medical Service personnel; and to remove $3,000.00 from the Senior Citizens Center contribution. City Councilman Francis stated that he would like to see the elimination of the early warning system. Councilman Wortham stated that he would like to see the deletion of the alarm system and the cancelling of the two patrolmen in the Police Department. Councilman Williams stated that he would like to see the elimination of the storm sewer on 17th S. E. and was in favor of the warning alert system. Councilman McGee stated that he would like to see the alarm system deleted. Mayor Burnett stated that he would like to see the two dispatchers cut from the Fire Department. After further discussion, Mayor Burnett called for a motion from the Council. A motion was made by Councilman Graham seconded by Councilman McGee to eliminate the secretary of the City Attorney Office. The motion carried 5 ayes, 1 nay, Councilman Williams voting nay. A motion was made by Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman McGee for the deletion of two patrolmen in the Police Department, and applying an additional $50.00 per month increase to salaries for patrolmen through the Asst. Chief, and all personnel in the Emergency Medical Service. The motion carried 6 ayes 0 nays. A motion was made by Councilman Graham to remove $3,000.00 contribution to the Senior Citizens Center. The motion failed for lack of a second. A motion was made by Councilman McGee, seconded by Councilman Francis to eliminate the alarm system. The vote showed 3 ayes, 3 nays. A motion was made by Councilman Francis, seconded by Councilman McGee to accept the budget with the changes as noted in the above motions. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. ORDINANCE NO. 2578 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE ENSUING FISCAL YEAR, BEGINNING JULY 1, 1981, AND ENDING JUNE 30, 1982, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF PARIS, APPROPRIATING THE VARIOUS AMOUNTS THEREOF AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. was presented. The motion was made by Councilman Graham, seconded by Councilman �I Williams for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Resolution No. 2098 transfering funds between Departments and the Contingent Appropriation Account was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Graham for adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays.
