City Manager Sokoll requested authorization to advertise for bids for a radar <br />unit for the police department, 12,500 linear feet of 6" plastice water pipe, <br />and the hard surface courts at Johnson and Record Parks. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Burnett approving the request. The <br />motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone called for the tabulation of bids for a vehicle for the Emergency <br />Medical Service and the following bids were received: <br />Lowry Chevrolet $5,663.00 <br />Bill Booth Motors $6,165.57 <br />Kosterman Motor Co. $5,990.00 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Wortham approving <br />the bid of Kosterman Motor Company as the lowest and best bid meeting specifications. <br />The motion carried 5 ayes, 1 nay Councilman Kyle voting nay, Councilman Kohls <br />abstaining. <br />Mayor Malone called for the tabulation of bids for a Chlorinator for the Maxey <br />Water Treatment Plant. City Manager Sokoll announced that only one bid had been <br />received, and that from the Wallace & Tiernan in the amount of $2,045.00, and <br />recommended its approval. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by <br />Councilman Williams approving the recommendation of the City Manager. The motion <br />carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone called for the reading of several Ordinances previously authorized <br />and the following Ordinances were presented. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2521 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE <br />NO. 2491 CORRECTING TYPOGRAPHICAL ERRORS CONTAINED THEREIN AND PROVIDING THAT THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS BE AMENDED BY REVISING THE TRAFFIC - <br />CONTROL DEVICE MAP ADOPTED IN PARAGRAPH (b) OF SECTION 29 -80 OF SAID CODE; PROVID- <br />ING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED$200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OF PARTS OF <br />ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER <br />1, 1980 <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wortham, seconded by Councilman <br />Williams for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
