t <br />RESOLUTION NO. 203 <br />WHEREAS, the public convenience, safety and necessity of the <br />City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and the people of the City of Paris, re- <br />quire that State Highway routes within the City be adequately man - <br />tained; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has requested that the State of <br />Texas, enter upon and contribute financially to the maintenance of <br />said State Highway routes; and, <br />WHEREAS, the State of Texas has made it known to the City <br />of Paris that it will, with its forces and equipment and at its sole <br />cost and expense, enter upon and maintain said State Highway routes, <br />conditioned upon the provisions concerning liabilities and responsi- <br />bilities for maintenance, control, supervision and regulation, which <br />are set out in the "MUNICIPAL MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT', <br />dated September 8, 1980, attached hereto as Exhibit A; and, <br />WHEREAS, said routes consist of those State Highways and /or <br />portions thereof, which are described and included in said Municipal <br />Maintenance Agreement; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIIE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That Michael E. Malone, Mayor of the City of Paris, be, <br />and he is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Paris, <br />the contract with the State Department of Iighways and Public <br />Transportation, providing for maintenance by the State of Texas <br />of Texas Highways within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, <br />upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A <br />attached hereto. <br />Passed and adopted this 8th day of September, 1980. <br />Mic ael alone, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />H.
