ORDINANCE NO. 2527 - AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX RATE AND THE TAX LEVY, AND LEVYING AD VALOREM TAXES FOR THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, FOR THE YEAR 1980, UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE SAID CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, IN CONFORMITY WITH THE CHARTER PROVISIONS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Francis to approve the 1980 Tax Roll in the amount of $334,466,868.00. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Malone called for the reading of a previously authorized Ordinance pro- hibiting boating on Lake Gibbons from October I through March 31, each year. ORDINANCE 2528 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 8 -50 OF SAID CODE AND BY ADDING A SECTION TO BE NUMBERED 8 -51; PROVIDING FOR FISHING AND PRO- HIBITING BOATING DURING CERTAIN DATES AT LAKE GIBBONS; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 1, 1980, was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Wortham for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Sokoll requested consideration of a Resolution authorizing a new maintenance contract with the Texas Department of Highways and Public Tran- sportation. Resolution No. 2053 authorizing the Mayor to execute a contract with the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation providing for the maintenance by the State of Texas within the corporate limits of the City of Paris was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams for adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays.
