+ � 6 E' MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL February 11, 1980 The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Monday, February 11, 1980 at 7:00 P. M. Mayor Malone called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: George Fisher, Jr., Walter F. Williams, Billy Joe Burnett, Ronald Kyle, and W. C. Francis. Also present were City Manager, Robert W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. Prayer was offered by the Rev. Ray Armstrong. Mayor Malone asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous meetings furnished to the Council members. There being none, the minutes were approved. Mayor Malone announced that the first order of business would be consideration of recommendations made by the Planning & Zoning Commission. Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open on the petition of 31 Properties for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 3 to a Commercial District on part of Lot 3, City Block 266, located on the South side of Loop 286 N. E., east of 17th N. E. Mayor Malone called for proponents to appear and Mr. Jim Thompson, Attorney appeared in behalf of the petitioners, and stated that a purchaser of the property wanted to place a Diesel Truck Stop Service on the property. Mayor Malone called for opponents to appear and none appeared. ORDINANCE NO. 2489 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON A PART OF LOT 3, CITY BLOCK 266, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO 31 PROPERTIES, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORM- ERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 3 (SF -3); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED. was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Malone announced that the next order of business would be consideration of proposed amendments to the Subdivision Regulations and advised the Council that the Planning and Zoning Commission and Building Commission meeting held jointly to study the regulations were continuing their study. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Burentt to table the item. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Councilman Farris entered the Council Chambers and assumed his chair at the council table. City Attorney Haynes presented a petition from John W. of Lot 7, Block 316, from a Single Family District, to Mayor Malone referred the petition to the Planning and their study and recommendations and called for a public regular Council meeting.
