+ � 6 E' MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />February 11, 1980 <br />The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris was held Monday, <br />February 11, 1980 at 7:00 P. M. Mayor Malone called the meeting to order with <br />the following Councilmen present: George Fisher, Jr., Walter F. Williams, Billy <br />Joe Burnett, Ronald Kyle, and W. C. Francis. Also present were City Manager, <br />Robert W. Sokoll, City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk, H. C. Greene. <br />Prayer was offered by the Rev. Ray Armstrong. <br />Mayor Malone asked if there were any corrections to the minutes of previous <br />meetings furnished to the Council members. There being none, the minutes <br />were approved. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the first order of business would be consideration <br />of recommendations made by the Planning & Zoning Commission. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open on the petition of 31 Properties <br />for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 3 to a Commercial <br />District on part of Lot 3, City Block 266, located on the South side of Loop <br />286 N. E., east of 17th N. E. <br />Mayor Malone called for proponents to appear and Mr. Jim Thompson, Attorney <br />appeared in behalf of the petitioners, and stated that a purchaser of the <br />property wanted to place a Diesel Truck Stop Service on the property. <br />Mayor Malone called for opponents to appear and none appeared. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2489 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; <br />ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON A PART OF LOT 3, CITY BLOCK 266, ON <br />PROPERTY BELONGING TO 31 PROPERTIES, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORM- <br />ERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 3 (SF -3); AND DESIGNATING <br />THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman <br />Williams for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the next order of business would be consideration <br />of proposed amendments to the Subdivision Regulations and advised the Council <br />that the Planning and Zoning Commission and Building Commission meeting held <br />jointly to study the regulations were continuing their study. After discussion, <br />a motion was made by Councilman Fisher, seconded by Councilman Burentt to table <br />the item. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Councilman Farris entered the Council Chambers and assumed his chair at the <br />council table. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented a petition from John W. <br />of Lot 7, Block 316, from a Single Family District, to <br />Mayor Malone referred the petition to the Planning and <br />their study and recommendations and called for a public <br />regular Council meeting. <br />McCoy, Sr. for rezoning <br />a Commercial District. <br />Zoning Commission for <br />hearing at the next <br />
