T 110 <br />r <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the following petitions for zoning: The Paris <br />Independent School District, 3 tracts, the East Paris School, First Ward School, <br />and the Fourth Ward School tracts: Ralph B. Shelton II, part of Lot 28, City <br />Block 259, from SF2 District to Commercial District; Rayburn Bell, Lot 10, and 11, <br />City Block 55 from a 2 -F District to Commercial; Gaylon R. Maddox, Lot 1, Block A, <br />Lamesa Heights, from SF -2 District, to Neighborhood Service District. <br />Mayor Malone referred the petitions to the Planning and Zoning Commission for their <br />study and recommendations, and call for a public hearing at the next regular Council <br />meeting. <br />Mayor Malone announced that the next order of business would be consideration of <br />recommendations made by the Traffic Commission. <br />The Traffic Commission recommended that stop signs be placed on 28th N. E. at <br />Ballard, stopping north and south bound traffic, on Belmont at East Tudor, stopping <br />south bound traffic, and on 19th Street N. E. at East Tudor, stopping north bound <br />traffic. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Wortham <br />approving the recommendations of the Traffic Commission, and approving the placement <br />of stop signs at the above locations. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone acting as chairman of the Committee appointed to study the Radio and <br />Communication Equipment Maintenance contract announced that a meeting had been <br />held, the study would be continued, and a report be made hopefully at the Special <br />meeting on November 24, 1980. <br />Mayor Malone presented to Dick Boots, Director of Parks & Recreation a 1980 <br />Beautification Award for Bywaters Park made to the Department of Paris and <br />Recreation by the Crape Myrtle Committee. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open on the request of Midwest Video <br />for a rate increase. Mr. Robert McWhirter was presented in behalf of Midwest Video. <br />No other person appeared before the Council and the public hearing was declared <br />closed. <br />
