F .. <br />' 8 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2538 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION <br />FOR RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL <br />MIDWEST VIDEO CONTRACT HOLDERS <br />HOLDERS REQUESTING SERVICE ON <br />CHARGE THEREFOR; REPEALING ALL <br />AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />1 AND 4 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1365, PROVIDING MONTHLY RATES <br />OUTLETS AND CONNECTION CHARGES FOR FM SERVICE FOR <br />AND MONTHLY RATES FOR RESIDENTIAL NON - CONTRACT <br />4ND AFTER DECEMBER 1, 1980 AND THE CONNECTION SERVICE <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; <br />DATE. <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wortham, seconded by Councilman <br />Kyle for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 5 ayes, 1 nay, Councilman <br />Williams voting nay. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open on the request of Mrs. Jackie Methven <br />for placement of a mobile home outside of a mobile home park on Lot 5, City Block <br />211, located on the southwest corner of 22nd S. W. and W. Austin. <br />Mayor Malone called for proponents to appear, and none appeared. <br />Mayor Malone called for opponents to appear and none appeared, and the public hearing <br />was declared closed. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams approving <br />the request. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. Thomas Perry, Chairman of the Lamar County Child Welfare Board, Inc. appeared <br />before the Council requesting the Council to finance 1,463 linear feet of 8 inch <br />of water lines from Clarksville Street south to a Foster Home constructed on S. <br />Collegiate Drive. The Council was advised that the estimated cost of materials <br />and railroad permit was $11,634.96, that the City's cost for over sizing of the <br />main to be $2,922.92 leaving a balance of $8,712.04 to be born by the Welfare Board. <br />Mr. Perry requested the City consider a period of three years for payment of the <br />line, and expressed the hope that it would be paid in a shorter period of time. <br />Mr. Perry advised that the organization was a non - profit one, and was presently <br />soliciting funds. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Francis, <br />seconded by Councilman Wortham to table the item. After further discussion, <br />Councilman Wortham and Councilman Francis withdrew their motion and second. <br />After further discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Williams, and seconded <br />Councilman Kyle to approve the request of the Board for extention of credit on <br />the 8 inch water line. The motion carried 5 ayes, 1 nay, Councilman Francis voting <br />nay. <br />Mr. Tom Hensel, representing the McClanahan & Holmes Firm, appeared before the <br />Council to discuss the Audit Report performed by that firm for the period ending <br />June 30, 1980. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Francis, seconded <br />by Mayor Malone to accept the Audit as furnished. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone called for the tabulation of bids for four police cars for the Police <br />Department, and the following bids were presented: <br />Kosterman Motors <br />$24,950.00 <br />Lowry Chevrolet <br />25,120.00 <br />McDougall Olds <br />25,743.00 <br />Glass Motors <br />27,423.36 <br />Booth Motors <br />28,553.20 <br />
