12 c A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams to accept the bids of McDougall Olds that being the only bid meeting specifications. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Malone called for the tabulation of bids for one station wagon for the Fire Department, and the following bids were received: McDougall Olds (Oldsmobile) $7,658.00 McDougall Olds (AMC) 7,292.00 Kosterman Motors 6,790.00 Glass Motors 7,577.88 Lowry Chevrolet 6,894.00 Booth Motors 7,156.45 City Manager Sokoll recommended that the bid of Booth Motors be accepted as the lowest bid meeting specifications. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Wortham approving the recommendation of the City Manager. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Malone called for the tabulation of bids for one trash truck for the Sanitation Department, and the following bids were presented: Davis Truck & Equipment Co., Irving, Texas Industrial Disposal Supply Co., Plano, Texas Environmental Sales & Service Co., Hurst, Texas Environmental Sales (Alternate) Pak -Mor Manufacturing Co., San Antonio, Texas Pak -More (Alternate) $39,692.00 39,450.00 41,663.00 43,450.00 40,699.00 42,902.00 City Manager Sokoll recommended that the bid of the Davis Truck & Equipment Co. be accepted in that the delivery time of the low bid was 120 days and that of the Davis bid 15 days. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Wortham approving the recommendation of the City Manager. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Sokoll requested the Council to consider the purchase of a 50 foot wide right -of -way across Lot 3, City Block 279, located on 17th N. E. for the purpose of future extension of East Hickory Street, the purchase being from Mrs. Vivian Green. The City Manager advised that Mrs. Green had requested $2,000.00 for the tract of land, and further advised that the item had been before the Council a number of times in the past two years. After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Council- man Wortham authorizing the purchase of the property for $2,000.00. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Malone called for the reading of a Resolution previously authorized concerning a land lease agreement with Midwest Video for it's tower. Resolution No. 2066 authorizing and directing the City Manager to execute on be- half of the City of Paris a lease with Midwest Video Corporation for a term of 25 years for property for it's tower was presented. A motion was made by Council- man Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams for adoption of the Resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays.
