12 <br />c <br />A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams to <br />accept the bids of McDougall Olds that being the only bid meeting specifications. <br />The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone called for the tabulation of bids for one station wagon for the Fire <br />Department, and the following bids were received: <br />McDougall Olds (Oldsmobile) <br />$7,658.00 <br />McDougall Olds (AMC) <br />7,292.00 <br />Kosterman Motors <br />6,790.00 <br />Glass Motors <br />7,577.88 <br />Lowry Chevrolet <br />6,894.00 <br />Booth Motors <br />7,156.45 <br />City Manager Sokoll recommended that the bid of Booth Motors be accepted as the <br />lowest bid meeting specifications. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded <br />by Councilman Wortham approving the recommendation of the City Manager. The motion <br />carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone called for the tabulation of bids for one trash truck for the Sanitation <br />Department, and the following bids were presented: <br />Davis Truck & Equipment Co., Irving, Texas <br />Industrial Disposal Supply Co., Plano, Texas <br />Environmental Sales & Service Co., Hurst, Texas <br />Environmental Sales (Alternate) <br />Pak -Mor Manufacturing Co., San Antonio, Texas <br />Pak -More (Alternate) <br />$39,692.00 <br />39,450.00 <br />41,663.00 <br />43,450.00 <br />40,699.00 <br />42,902.00 <br />City Manager Sokoll recommended that the bid of the Davis Truck & Equipment Co. <br />be accepted in that the delivery time of the low bid was 120 days and that <br />of the Davis bid 15 days. A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded <br />by Councilman Wortham approving the recommendation of the City Manager. The <br />motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll requested the Council to consider the purchase of a 50 foot <br />wide right -of -way across Lot 3, City Block 279, located on 17th N. E. for the <br />purpose of future extension of East Hickory Street, the purchase being from <br />Mrs. Vivian Green. The City Manager advised that Mrs. Green had requested <br />$2,000.00 for the tract of land, and further advised that the item had been before <br />the Council a number of times in the past two years. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Council- <br />man Wortham authorizing the purchase of the property for $2,000.00. The motion <br />carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone called for the reading of a Resolution previously authorized <br />concerning a land lease agreement with Midwest Video for it's tower. <br />Resolution No. 2066 authorizing and directing the City Manager to execute on be- <br />half of the City of Paris a lease with Midwest Video Corporation for a term of <br />25 years for property for it's tower was presented. A motion was made by Council- <br />man Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams for adoption of the Resolution. The <br />motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
