2 <br />Motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded,by Councilman Burnett to refer <br />the replat back to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a thirty day period. <br />Motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Councilman Farris entered the Council Chambers and assumed his chair. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented the Final Plat of Morningside Estates Part 7 and <br />recommended its approval. Motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by <br />Councilman Fisher to approve the final plat. Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the following petitions for amendments to the <br />Zoning Ordinance: M. C. Lester, Lot 7 and 8., Block 4, Colonial Addition from <br />Single Family Dwelling District No. 3 to Commercial District; G. Eugene Brown, <br />Lot 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, Block N, Morningside Estates Part 7 from Agricultural <br />District to Single Family Dwelling District No. 2; Arnold W. Pennington, Lot 2, <br />City Block 320 from Single Family Dwelling District No. 2 to Commercial District; <br />Cass Ambulance, Inc., Lot 12, City Block 220 -B from Multiple Family Dwelling <br />District No. 2 and Specific Use Permit- Public or Private Utility District to <br />Office District. ,A <br />Mayor Malone referred the petitions to the Planning and Zoning Commission for <br />their study and recommendation and called for public hearing at the next regular <br />Council meeting. <br />Mayor Malone announced that consideration would be given now to the request of <br />the Lamar County Alcoholic and Drug Abuse Council for a $5,000 contribution which <br />request was delayed to this meeting from the public hearing on the 1978 -79 budget.* <br />Motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Philley to approve <br />the request of the Lamar County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council for a $5,000 con- <br />tribution as requested at the public hearing on the budget. Motion carried 6 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised the Council of the Coca Cola Company's interest in <br />the purchase of 100 feet of property located adjacent to the Coca Cola property <br />now being occupied by the Police Station on Bonham Street through to Kaufman Street. <br />Mr. Don McLaughlin appeared in behalf of the Coca Cola Company and stated that <br />the company needed the property for future expansion and that the company would <br />put up cash for security of bid with fohfeiture if the company did not bid a <br />stipulated amount. <br />Mr. Johnny Williams appeared in behalf of the Coca Cola Company as manager of the <br />company stating that at the present growth rate the company would run out of room <br />and the company did not desire to change its location. <br />Councilman Wunsch suggested that a committee be appointed to study the request. <br />Mayor Malone appointed a committee composed of Councilman Wunsch, Councilman, <br />Burnett and Councilman Fisher requesting that they study the request and report <br />back to the Council at its next regular meeting. <br />
