2 Motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded,by Councilman Burnett to refer the replat back to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a thirty day period. Motion carried 5 ayes, 0 nays. Councilman Farris entered the Council Chambers and assumed his chair. City Manager Sokoll presented the Final Plat of Morningside Estates Part 7 and recommended its approval. Motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by Councilman Fisher to approve the final plat. Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. City Attorney Haynes presented the following petitions for amendments to the Zoning Ordinance: M. C. Lester, Lot 7 and 8., Block 4, Colonial Addition from Single Family Dwelling District No. 3 to Commercial District; G. Eugene Brown, Lot 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, Block N, Morningside Estates Part 7 from Agricultural District to Single Family Dwelling District No. 2; Arnold W. Pennington, Lot 2, City Block 320 from Single Family Dwelling District No. 2 to Commercial District; Cass Ambulance, Inc., Lot 12, City Block 220 -B from Multiple Family Dwelling District No. 2 and Specific Use Permit- Public or Private Utility District to Office District. ,A Mayor Malone referred the petitions to the Planning and Zoning Commission for their study and recommendation and called for public hearing at the next regular Council meeting. Mayor Malone announced that consideration would be given now to the request of the Lamar County Alcoholic and Drug Abuse Council for a $5,000 contribution which request was delayed to this meeting from the public hearing on the 1978 -79 budget.* Motion was made by Councilman Burnett, seconded by Councilman Philley to approve the request of the Lamar County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council for a $5,000 con- tribution as requested at the public hearing on the budget. Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Sokoll advised the Council of the Coca Cola Company's interest in the purchase of 100 feet of property located adjacent to the Coca Cola property now being occupied by the Police Station on Bonham Street through to Kaufman Street. Mr. Don McLaughlin appeared in behalf of the Coca Cola Company and stated that the company needed the property for future expansion and that the company would put up cash for security of bid with fohfeiture if the company did not bid a stipulated amount. Mr. Johnny Williams appeared in behalf of the Coca Cola Company as manager of the company stating that at the present growth rate the company would run out of room and the company did not desire to change its location. Councilman Wunsch suggested that a committee be appointed to study the request. Mayor Malone appointed a committee composed of Councilman Wunsch, Councilman, Burnett and Councilman Fisher requesting that they study the request and report back to the Council at its next regular meeting.
