Commercial District on Lot 1 and part of Lot 3, City Block 344 located on the <br />southwest corner of Bonham Street and 41st Street S.W. had been withdrawn. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing open on the petition of Archie Bray <br />and Helen Bray for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 <br />to a General Retail District on Lot 1, City Block 254 -A located on the southwest <br />corner of Clarksville Street and 24th S.E. <br />Mayor Malone called for proponents to appear and Mr. A.W. Clem, attorney, appeared <br />in behalf of the petitioners stating that the premises would be for sale and <br />would be cleared within 60 days. <br />Mayor Malone called for opponents to appear and none appeared. <br />Mayor Malone declared the public hearing closed and Ordinance No. 2395 <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED <br />BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A GENERAL RETAIL <br />DISTRICT (GR) ON LOT 1, CITY BLOCK 254A, ON PROPERTY BELONGING <br />TO ARCHIE BRAY AND HELEN BRAY, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRI- <br />TORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. <br />2 (SF -2); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE GENERAL RETAIL <br />DISTRICT (GR) SO ESTABLISHED." <br />was presented. Motion was made by Councilman Farris, seconded by Councilman <br />Wunsch for adoption of the ordinance. Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll presented a replat of Lot 24, City Block 312 for approval. — <br />Councilman Farris requested to be excused.because of conflict of interest. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by Councilman Fisher to excuse <br />Councilman Farris. Motion carried unanimously. Councilman Farris departed the <br />chambers. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised the Council that the Director of Public forks had <br />recommended approval of the replat subject to (1) access easement should be <br />indicated along Lot 24A and (2) easement for utilities should be provided to <br />serve Lot 24B. <br />Mr. Brad Hutchison, attorney, appeared in behalf of Dr. John Rodgers requesting <br />approval subject to the Director of Public Works exceptions. <br />Mr. Thomas Steely appeared before the Council requesting that the plat be referred <br />back to the Planning and Zoning Commission for further study and better develop- <br />ment of the area. <br />Mr. Hutchison advised that the easement referred to by the Director of Public <br />Works had not been acquired as yet but would be from Dr. Larry !balker and present <br />owner of the property in question. <br />
