Price Street, stated she was Drug Coordinator for Paris and <br />Lamar County and outlined their need for office space to operate their program of <br />drug prevention, education and rehabilitation bf drug abusers. <br />Council advised Mr.-Burress that such a request might qualify under health facilities <br />and requested she present a program to the City's.birector of Community Development <br />for further consideration. <br />No one else in the audience"14ished to speak at:this time and Councilman Wunsch made <br />~mention of a request he had received from the Paris Tennis Association to upgrade <br />t.,--o tennis courts in Culbertson Park which are badly deteriorated... <br />Councilman Fisher stated consideration should be given to improving water lines in <br />the nortNoast and northwest sections of the City for better water service and fire <br />protection. ; <br />City Manager Greene advised the Council that the City Staff will review last year's <br />program concerning water, sewer and street improvements and present recommendations <br />to the Council. <br />Mayer Williams then declared the Public Hearing closed. <br />City Manager Greene presented plans by the Department of Highways and Public Trans- <br />portation for an asphalt overky of N. Main Street from Pine Bluff Street north to <br />Loop 286. Council approval of the project had been requested by the State. <br />Councilman Philley made a motion to approve the project. Councilman Wunsch seconded <br />the motion which carried 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />k;_QSIderation of water service in the "gray area" for Lewis McGee and R. L. Stapleton <br />was ta" ed until the February 13, 1978 meeting in order to gather additional infor- <br />mation. The motion was made by Councilman Stone and seconded by Councilman Philley <br />and carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Williams declared the Council would go into Executive Session to-discuss <br />personnel matters. <br />Mayor Williams reopened the meeting and closed the Executive Session advising the <br />audience that no action was taken. <br />With ni further business to consider, the meeting was adjourned. <br />MAYOR PRO -TEM WALTER F.
