21,5 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1876 . <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, <br />deems it advisable to establish a Parks and Recreation Board to act <br />in an advisory capacity to the City Council; and, <br />WHEREAS, such Board should study and make recommendations <br />concerning the parks and recreation needs of the citizens of Paris; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the Parks and Recreation Board is hereby created, to <br />consist of nine (9) resident citizens, taxpayers and qualified voters <br />of the City of Paris, Lamar County, Texas, who have a strong in- <br />terest in the parks and recreation needs of the citizens of Paris; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That such members shall be ap- <br />pointed by the City Council; the initial board consisting of three (3) <br />members appointed for one year terms; three (3) members for two <br />year terms and three (3) members for three year terms, and there- <br />after all appointments shall be for three year terms with partially <br />completed terms being filled for the remainder of said terms. <br />Passed and adopted. this 10th day of July, 1978. <br />ATTEST: <br />H. Malone, Mayor <br />Mayor Malone called for a discussion of possible water rationing due to the lack <br />of current rainfall and lack of pumping facilities to meet present demands of the <br />City of Paris and its industrial customers. Director of Public !forks Ennis <br />Killingsworth informed the Council that the City had a 16 million gallon per day <br />capacity for pumping raw water from Pat Mayse. That the City had a treatment <br />capacity of 1% MGD at the 1966 constructed water treatment plant and 62 million <br />MGD from the plant known as the Camp Maxey Plant.
