ti <br />Mayor Brunette directed the correction to be made and the Minutes were approved <br />as corrected. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the first order of business would be consideration <br />of recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission.. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on the pet.'.t,ion of James P. Miears <br />and R. B. Staples, Jr., for a change in zoning on part of Lot 8, City Block 287 <br />from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 to a Planned Development District- _ <br />Housing Community Unit Development and Office Center on part of Lot 8, City Block <br />287 located on the west side of Loop 286 S.E. and Morningside Drive. <br />Mr. Staples was present and stated th--t their petition had been amended from the <br />previous one and all objections had been satisfied. He then asked for favorable <br />consideration by the Council. <br />There was no one else present to speak either for or against the petition and <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing closed. Ordinance No. 2372 <br />trAN flIcDIi1ANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE 1910. 1720 OF THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED <br />BY THE ZONING MAC' OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A PLANNED DEVELOP - <br />MENT DISTRICT, HOUSING DEVELOPMENT OR COMMUNITY UNIT DEVELOPMENT <br />ANM OFFICE CENT "R (PD -b,f), ON PART OF LOT 8, CITY BLOCK 287, ON <br />PROPERTY BELONGING TO . -jMS P. MIEARS AND R. B. STAPLES, JR.,- SO <br />AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE - <br />FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2 (Sr -2); AND DESIGNATING THE <br />BOUNDARIES OF THE PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT, HOUSING DEVELOP- <br />MENT OR COMMUNITY UNIT DEVERLOPMENT AND OFFICE CENTER (PD -b,f), <br />SO ESTABLISHED." <br />was preser.:ted. A motion was made by Councilman Malone seconded by Councilman <br />lrluns-ch for the adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open to consider the petition of Eric <br />Lee Jordan for a change in zoning from a Two Family Dwelling District to a General <br />Retail District on Lots 24, 25 and 26, Block 2 of the Hodges and Talkington <br />Partition - located at 1345 Bonham Street. <br />Mr. Jordan was present stating that extensive renovation had been done to the house <br />at this location which was proposed to be used for an art studio and as their <br />residence. He went on to say that this was a good utilization of an older home of <br />this type. When asked about off street parking, he stated there was sufficient <br />room to the rear of the house for this purpose. <br />No one.else appeared for br against the petition and Mayor Brunette declared the <br />public hearing closed. Ordinance No. 2373 <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNBARIES ESTABLISHED BY <br />THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY, ESTABLISHING A GENERAL RETAIL DIS- <br />TRICT (GR) ON LOTS 24, 25 and 26, BLOCK 2, TALKINGTON -HODGE <br />ADDITION, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO ERIC LEE JORDAN, SO AS TO <br />INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A TWO- FAMILY <br />DWELLING DISTRICT (2F); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE <br />GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) SO ESTABLISHED." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman <br />Fisher for adoption of the Ordinance. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on the petition of Mrs. Charles <br />McEwin for a change in zoning from a Two Family Dwelling District to a Neighborhood <br />Service District on Lot 1 -A, City Block 112 -F located at 1460 E. Hearon Street. <br />Mrs. McEwin stated her proposal to enclose the garage at this location for the <br />purpose of operating a beauty shop. She stated there was sufficient room for off <br />street parking at this location. <br />
