Resolution No. 1891 authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with <br />Ned Jenkins in the amount of $19,975.00 for demolition and removal of the <br />Old Lake Crook Water Treatment Plant was presented. Motion was made by <br />Councilman Farris, seconded by Councilman Burnett for adoption of the <br />Resolution. Mayor Malone called for the vote which showed 3 ayes, and <br />3 nays, Councilman Williams, Councilman Wunsch, and Councilman Philley <br />voting nay, and the Resolution failed to pass. After discussion, a <br />motion was made by Councilman Farris, and seconded by Councilman Wunsch to <br />table the bids. Before the question was called Mr. Ned Jenkins, who had <br />made a previous bid, presented at the last regular Council meeting of <br />$17,500.00 advised that the additional amount.was placed in his bid due . <br />to the closer approach of bad weather conditions and the availability <br />of machinery at this time for demolition of the building. Councilman <br />Farris and Councilman Wunsch withdrew their motion to table the bid. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Farris, seconded by Councilman Burnett <br />for adoption of the Resolution. Motion carried 4 ayes, 2 nays. Council <br />man Wunsch, and Councilman Philley voting nay. <br />Mayor Malone called for the tabulation of bids for the purchase of six <br />automobiles, and the following bids were received. <br />Kosterman Motor Company $27,505.59 <br />Lowry Chevrolet, Inc. $27,262.00 <br />McDougall Olds- Cadillac, Inc. ; $29,086.00 <br />City Manager Sokoll recommended that the bid of Lowry Chevrolet, Inc. be <br />accepted in the amount of $27,262.00. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Burnett, seconded by Councilman Williams to approve the recommendation <br />of the City Manager. Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
