333 . City Manager Sokoll advised that the Traff is Commission had- recommended that a No Parking Zone in front of the Plaza Theatre Building be eliminated. A motion was made by Councilman Farris, seconded by Councilman Burnett authorizing an Ordinance be prepared as recommended for the No Parking Zone. Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 naps. E. at Loop 286 from the south, acid Houston Street at 9th N. W. from east and west. City Manager Sokoll advised the Council that the Traffic Commission had recommended that Yield signs be placed at 34th Street N. E. at Robin Road from north and South, 38th Street. S. E. at Dawn Drive from north and South. A motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by Councilman Burnett authorizing the preparation of an Ordinance for presentation at a future Council meeting. Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Sokoll advised the Council that the Traffic Commission had recommended reducing speed zone from 30 to 20 MPH do 38th Street S. E. in the vicinity of Norningside tennis courts. A motion was made by Councilman Burnett, and seconded by Councilman Williams authorizing the preparation of an Ordinance to be presented at a future Council meeting reducing the speed zone as recommended. Motion carried 6 antes, 0 nays. Mayor Malone called for a report from the Committee appointed to study the request -of the Midwest Video for renewal of a 25 year franchise. Councilman Farris speaking for the Committee stated that the recommendation was that the franchise be renewed with the only change from the current franchise be that of an increase in insurance requirements. Mayor Malone called for receipt of bids for demolition of the old water treatment plant constructed in 1922 and now abandoned. The City Manager advised that only one bid had been received and was that of Ned. Jenkins in the amount of $19,975.00. Mr. Ennis Killingsworth, Director of Public Works upon question advised the Council-that there was some salvage value to various metals in the building and advised that the Building needed removing.
