After discussion, a motion Was made by Council - <br />man Williams and seconded by Councilman Wunsch authorizing the Ordinance <br />be prepared for the stop signs as recommended. E. at Robin Road <br />from north and South, 38th Street. S. E. at Dawn Drive from north and <br />South. A motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by Councilman <br />Burnett authorizing the preparation of an Ordinance for presentation <br />at a future Council meeting. Motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised the Council that the Traffic Commission had <br />recommended reducing speed zone from 30 to 20 MPH do 38th Street S. E. <br />in the vicinity of Norningside tennis courts. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Burnett, and seconded by Councilman Williams authorizing the <br />preparation of an Ordinance to be presented at a future Council meeting <br />reducing the speed zone as recommended. Motion carried 6 antes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone called for a report from the Committee appointed to study <br />the request -of the Midwest Video for renewal of a 25 year franchise. <br />Councilman Farris speaking for the Committee stated that the recommendation <br />was that the franchise be renewed with the only change from the current <br />franchise be that of an increase in insurance requirements. Motion <br />carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Malone called for receipt of bids for demolition of the old water <br />treatment plant constructed in 1922 and now abandoned. The City Manager <br />advised that only one bid had been received and was that of Ned. Jenkins <br />in the amount of $19,975.00. Mr. Ennis Killingsworth, Director of Public <br />Works upon question advised the Council-that there was some salvage value <br />to various metals in the building and advised that the Building needed <br />removing. <br />
