City Manager Sokoll advised the Council of the need for a used truck for the <br />Sdwer Department to replace a'1939 model truck which was equiped with a winch <br />and "Gin Pole ". Mr. Horace Shires, Building and Electrical Inspector appeared <br />before the Council stating that the truck was used exclusively with in the <br />City limits for the purpose of removing and installing sewer pumps at sewer <br />lift stations. <br />City Manager Sokoll advised the Council that a 2 ton 1972 Ford truck had been <br />offered to the City by Ned Jenkins in the amount of $2,100.00 and that the <br />City could lease purchase the vehicle over a 6 months period, and in addition <br />Mr. Jenkins would install the winch and gin pole at a cost of $500.00 for <br />materials and $600.00 for labor. City Manager Sokoll requested authorization <br />to enter into a lease purchase agreement with Ned Jenkins d /b /a Jenkins <br />Welding Company for the truck. <br />After discussion a motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Council <br />man Burnett approving the request of the City Manager., Motion carried 5 ayes, <br />0 nays.
