No one else was present to speak for or against the petition and Mayor Brunette <br />declared the Public Hearing closed and called for the reading of the ordinance. <br />Ordinance No. 2381 <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING <br />MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISH114G A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) AND A <br />SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, KINDERGARTEN SCHOOL (25), ON LOTS 7 AND 14, CITY <br />BLOCK 112A, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO CHARLES D. HOOVER, SO AS TO <br />INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A GENERAL RETAIL <br />DISTRICT (GR); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE GENERAL kETAIL <br />DISTRICT (GR) AND SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, KINDERGARTEN SCHOOL (25), SO <br />ESTABLISHED." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Wunsch, seconded by Councilman <br />â–ºaill±ams for approval of the ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Joe McCollum presented the replat of Lots 10 and 11, City Block 30 for Council con - <br />sideration, stating everything was in order and that approval was recommended. <br />A motion was made by Councilman.Fisher, seconded by Councilman Wunsch for approval <br />of the replat. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mr. McCollum then presented an Amended Plat of Winchester Estates stating the front <br />building line had been reduced from 30 feet to 25 feet and that this was the only <br />change made and recommended approval. A motion was made by Councilman Malone, <br />seconded by Councilman Fisher for approval. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented petitions for rezoning from Junior..Ray Hall on Lot <br />3, City Block 88 from a Two Family Dwelling District to a Commercial District and <br />from Vivian Jenkins on Lot 17, City Block 48 from a One Family Dwelling District <br />No. 2 to a Neighborhood Service District. Mayor Brunette referred the petitions <br />to the Plannin¢ and Zoning Commission for study and recommendations and called for <br />a public hearing at the next regular Council meeting. <br />Mayor Brunette stated the Traffic Commission had recommended setting the speed <br />limit on Center Street between 7th N.W. and 19th N.W. from 30 MPH to a posted 40 <br />MPH. Following discussion of this item, Councilman Malone made a motion to authorize <br />preparation of an ordinance to that effect for consideration at the next regular <br />meeting. Councilman Fisher seconded the motion which carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Greene gave a report on the recommendations of the Airport Advisory <br />Board concerning a grant application to FAA for construction of a firehouse building <br />at the airport. He stated the project would be placed in the tentative budget for <br />Council consideration since it would require local matching funds. <br />Mayor Brunette recognized and welcomed guests.from the high school government classes. <br />ResAution No. 1857 awarding coiittdct to David Buster, Constrixction Co. for asphalt <br />overlay of two tennis courts in Culbertson Park. and, oe basketball, court in Record <br />Park was presented by City Attokhey Haynes. Following discussion, Councilman <br />Wunsch moved for adoption.of the Resolution. Councilman Fisher seconded the motion <br />which carried 6aye6, 0 nays. <br />
