MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY bOUNCIL April 10, 1978 The regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, April 10, 1978 at 7:00 P.M. Mayor James M. Brunette called the meeting to order with the following Council - men present: George Fisher, Jr., Michael Malone, David Philley, Walter F. Williams and Raymond Wunsch. Also present were Acting City Manager H. C. Greene, City Attorney T. K. Haynes and Acting City Clerk Joe N. McCollum. Prayer was offered by Reverend Julian T. Hendren, Pastor of the Central United Presbyterian Church. Mayor Brunette asked if there were additions or corrections to the Minutes of previous meetings. There being none, the Minutes were approved as presented. Mayor Brunette announced the first order of business would be consideration of recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. He declared the Public Hearing open on the petition of Mrs. George T. Young for a change in zoning from a Two Family Dwelling District (2F) to a Commercial District (C) on Lot 3, City Block 79 -A., located on the north side-of W. Cherry Street approx- imately 200 feet west of First N.W. George Young was present and stated the reason for the request was to provide a narking lot for customers and employees of Young's News Agency. No one else was present to speak for or against the petition and Mayor Brunette '�clared the Public Hearing closed and called for the reading of the ordinance. Ordinance No. 2380 "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON LOT 3, CITY BLOCK 79A, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO VICTORENE YOUNG, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A TWO- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (2F); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED." was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams; seconded by Councilman Wunsch for approval of the ordinance. The motion carried 6 -ayes, 0 naps. Mayor.Brunette declared the Public Hearing ogee on the petition of Chortles D. Hoover . nor a change in zoning from a General Retail District (GR) to a General. Retail Dis- trict and Specific Use Permit- Kindergarten School (25) on Lots 7 and 14,- City Block 112 -A located at 1446 Clarksville Street. Mr. Hoover was present stating his need for the zoning in order to operate the day care facility., 0
