MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY bOUNCIL <br />April 10, 1978 <br />The regular meeting of the City Council was held on Monday, April 10, 1978 at 7:00 <br />P.M. Mayor James M. Brunette called the meeting to order with the following Council - <br />men present: George Fisher, Jr., Michael Malone, David Philley, Walter F. Williams <br />and Raymond Wunsch. Also present were Acting City Manager H. C. Greene, City <br />Attorney T. K. Haynes and Acting City Clerk Joe N. McCollum. <br />Prayer was offered by Reverend Julian T. Hendren, Pastor of the Central United <br />Presbyterian Church. <br />Mayor Brunette asked if there were additions or corrections to the Minutes of previous <br />meetings. There being none, the Minutes were approved as presented. <br />Mayor Brunette announced the first order of business would be consideration of <br />recommendations made by the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />He declared the Public Hearing open on the petition of Mrs. George T. Young for a <br />change in zoning from a Two Family Dwelling District (2F) to a Commercial District <br />(C) on Lot 3, City Block 79 -A., located on the north side-of W. Cherry Street approx- <br />imately 200 feet west of First N.W. <br />George Young was present and stated the reason for the request was to provide a <br />narking lot for customers and employees of Young's News Agency. <br />No one else was present to speak for or against the petition and Mayor Brunette <br />'�clared the Public Hearing closed and called for the reading of the ordinance. <br />Ordinance No. 2380 <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING <br />MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON LOT 3, <br />CITY BLOCK 79A, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO VICTORENE YOUNG, SO AS TO <br />INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A TWO- FAMILY DWELLING <br />DISTRICT (2F); AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL <br />DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Williams; seconded by Councilman <br />Wunsch for approval of the ordinance. The motion carried 6 -ayes, 0 naps. <br />Mayor.Brunette declared the Public Hearing ogee on the petition of Chortles D. Hoover . <br />nor a change in zoning from a General Retail District (GR) to a General. Retail Dis- <br />trict and Specific Use Permit- Kindergarten School (25) on Lots 7 and 14,- City Block <br />112 -A located at 1446 Clarksville Street. <br />Mr. Hoover was present stating his need for the zoning in order to operate the <br />day care facility., <br />0 <br />
