ff <br />J <br />Councilman Wunsch moved for adoption of the Resolution. Councilman Fisher seconded <br />the motion which carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Public Hearings for the program as outlined in the Citizen's Participation Plans <br />were set for May 1, 1978 before the Planning and Zoning Commission and May 8, 1978 <br />before the City Council on a motion by Councilman Philley, seconded by Councilman <br />Fisher. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Greene read a petition received from residents along 17th N.E. between <br />Tudor Street aiid Blake Road protesting that their request for paving and water line <br />improvements had not been scheduled and requesting that it be approved. He gent on <br />to say that this item had been included in last years Block Grant Application which <br />was not funded and that it could be placed in this years program. <br />City Manager Greene gave a report concerning a request from the Texas Department of <br />Highways and Public Transportation for a statement of interest and participation in <br />the proposed improvements to Highway 19 & 24 from Evergreen Street south to the <br />City Limits. He said this would mean participating in curb and gutter, driveways, <br />sidewalks if any and drainage cost in that portion of the highway project within <br />the City Limits. <br />i <br />Mayor Brunette ask for a motion to submit an affitmatiVe interest statement to the <br />Department for use in the planning for this improvement. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams, seconded by Councilman Fisher to submi t. <br />the statement. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />The Paris Kiwanis Club, represented by Roy M. Welch, requested permission to operate <br />a carnival on the Mirabeau.Shopping Center parking lot from May 8 through May 13, <br />1978. The zoning involved was discussed and the City Attorney advised this would <br />be permissable at-this location. <br />
