i <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1859 . <br />WHEREAS, an election was held by the qualified voters of Wards <br />1, 2, 3 and 6 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the 1st day of <br />April, 1978, for the purpose of voting for and electing the Councilmen <br />from each of said Wards to serve as members of the City Council for <br />the ensuing two (2) years, to -wit: <br />1. <br />Councilman From Ward <br />One (1) <br />2. <br />Councilman From Ward <br />Two (2) <br />3. <br />Councilman From Ward <br />Three (3) <br />4. <br />Councilman From Ward <br />Six (6) <br />WHEREAS, as required by Order of the District Court of the <br />United States for the Eastern District of Texas, Paris. Division, in <br />Civil Action No. P- 75 -3 -CA, and as provided in the Charter of the <br />City of Paris and the laws of the State of Texas wherein they do not <br />conflict with said Order, such election was conducted and held at four <br />(4) specified and designated polling places, that is, one polling place <br />in Wards 1, 2, 3 and. 6 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and, <br />WHEREAS, sealed returns of said election, made -by the duly <br />appointed and designated election officials of and for the four (4) re- <br />spective voting boxes, have been made to the Mayor and City Council <br />of the City of Paris, as required by law, which returns after due and <br />deliberate review and' canvass thereof, show the following results of <br />said election, to-wit: <br />(1) IN WARD ONE (1) A TOTAL OF 76 VOTES WERE CAST <br />FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD ONE (1) AS FOLLOWS: <br />George Fisher, Jr. 74 votes; <br />Write -In Candidates 2. votes. _ <br />(2) INWARD TWO (2) A TOTAL OF 164 VOTES WERE CAST <br />FOR -COUNCILMAN FROM WARD TWO (2) AS FOLLOWS: <br />La Doris West 7 votes; <br />Jerry Johnson 62 votes; <br />F. D. Mallory III 18 votes; <br />Walter F. Williams 77 votes; <br />Write -In Candidates �� votes. <br />(3) IN WARD THREE (3) A TOTAL OF 202 VOTES WERE CAST <br />FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD THREE (3) AS FOLLOWS: <br />Gene W. McWaters, Sr. 65 votes; <br />Billy J. Burnett 96- votes; <br />Jimmy Don Stone U- votes; <br />Write -In Candidates 1 votes. <br />(4) IN WARD SIX (6) A TOTAL OF 335 VOTES WERE CAST <br />FOR COUNCILMAN FROM WARD SIX AS FOLLOWS: <br />James W.
