146 City Manager Sweatt requested authorization to advertise for bids for the con -. struction of curb and - gutter on East Cherry Street, such bids to be received at 10:00 A. M. on November 6, 1974 and presented to the City Council at its Regular Meeting on November 11, 1974. A motion was made by Councilman Whitaker and seconded by Councilman Moore that the request of the City Manager be approved. The motion carried: 4 ayes, 0 nays. Greene, City Clerk MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL October 30, 1974 - The Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Paris on October 30, 1974 at 7:00 P. M. was called to order by Mayor J. M. Brunette,.with the following Councilmen present: Doyle Whitaker, Joe King, Brad Hutchison, 0. L. Rainey, W. M. (Dub) Moore, and Sam M. Stone. Also present were City Manager K. R. Sweatt, City Attorney T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. Greene. Mayor Brunette announced that the purpose of the Special Meeting was to canvass the returns of the election held on October 22, 1974 on the proposition of a $3,000.00 exemption for persons 65 years of age or older. Mayor Brunette called for the canvass of the returns, and returns from the 4 wards were presented and opened by the mayor. After canvass of the returns, Resolution No. 1645, declaring the results of the _ election held on October 22, 1974 and showing that the proposition for the exemption passed, with 1264 votes for, and 459 votes against, with a total of 1723 votes cast, was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Stone and se- conded by Councilman King that the Resolution be adopted. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays_
