176 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1656 <br />WHEREAS, the City. Council of the City of Paris is well aware <br />of the esthetic value of the Plaza area and Italian fountain located <br />thereon; and, <br />WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City - <br />Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, that said fountain is in <br />need of repair and refurbishing; and, <br />WHEREAS, the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission of <br />Paris and Lamar County, acting by and through its Chairman, <br />Henry Braswell, has requested the City of Paris to participate in the <br />Culbertson Fountain restoration project in cooperation with said <br />Commission�by appropriating $4, 000.00 for said project, making <br />grant application and administering said grant; NOW, THERET'ORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS: <br />1. That Joe N. McCollum, Director of Community Development <br />of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and he is hereby, on behalf of <br />the City of Paris . and the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission <br />of Paris and Lamar County, authorized and directed to execute and <br />file such applications, assurances and contracts as may be necessary <br />to procure a grant from the American Revolution Bicentennial <br />Commission`of Texas and to provide such information and furnish <br />such documents as may be required by the American Revolution <br />Bicentennial Administration and to act as the authorized correspondent <br />and representative in the accomplishment of the Culbertson Fountain <br />Restoration Project. <br />O <br />2. That H. C.
