Mayor Brunette declared the Public Hearing open on the petition of Billy <br />F. LaRue to change from a One Family Dwelling District to a Commercial <br />District, Lot 10, City Block 316. <br />Mayor Brunette called for proponents to appear and Mr. LaRue appeared in <br />his behalf, stating that he had requested his petition be reduced in size <br />to the East 828.9 feet, and that he proposed a steel building on the pro- <br />perty to house retail sales of tractors and farm equipment. <br />Mayor Brunette called for opponents to appear and none appeared. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the Public Hearing closed and Ordinance No. 2187: <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO, 1710 <br />OF Till, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CIIA.NGING <br />Till' MUNDARIES ESTABLISHIM BY TIIC; ZONING MAP OF <br />SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A C01141-3-12CIAL DISTRICT (C) <br />ON A PART OF LOT 10, CITY BLOCK 316, ON PROPERTY <br />B13-LONGING TO BILLY F. LARUE AND WIFE BETTY LARUE: <br />D /B /A LARUE FORD TRACTOR COMPANY, SO AS TO IN- <br />CLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS <br />A ONE,- FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO, 2 (SF -2); <br />AND DESIGNATING TIM- BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL <br />DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by <br />Councilman Moore that the Ordinance be adopted. The motion carried: 7 <br />ayes, O nays. <br />Ivhyor Brunette announced that the next order of business was to consider <br />an ordinance correcting the zoning map error regarding Lot 25 and Lot 26, <br />Block A, Ist Installment, Johnson Woods Estates, such correction being re- <br />commended by the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />Ordinance No. 2188: <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS' PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING <br />THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF <br />SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT <br />(GR) AND SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, GASOLINE SERVICE <br />STATION (48) ON LOTS 25 AND 26 IN BLACK A OF THE <br />FIRST INSTALLMENT OF JOHNSON WOODS ESTATES, ON <br />PROPERTY BELONGING TO BETTY KAHN DREYFUS, SO AS <br />TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED <br />AS A MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1 <br />(MF -1) AND A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR); AND <br />DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE GENERAL RETAIL <br />DISTRICT (GR) AND SPECIFIC USE PERMIT, GASOLINE <br />SERVICE STATION (48)2 SO ESTABLISHED." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Stone and seconded by <br />Councilman Whitaker that the Ordinance be adopted. The motion carried: <br />7 ayes, O nays. <br />City 1,Lnager Sweatt recommended that fruit and vegetable stands, an un- <br />listed use in the Zoning Ordinance, be permitted in Commercial and Light <br />Industrial Districts with Specific Use Permit. After discussion, a mo- <br />tion was made by Councilman Whitaker and seconded by Councilman Rainey <br />that the recommendation be approved. The motion carried: 7 ayes, O nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented a petition from Elmer and Neil Whitaker to <br />re -zone Lot 3. Citv Block 47, from Light Industrial District to a Heavy <br />Industrial District and Specific Use Permit, Tanning, curing or Storage of <br />Skins or Hides. Mayor Brunette referred the petition to the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission for their study and recommendation and called for a Pub- - <br />'ic I-earing at the next Regular Council 1•3eeting. <br />3 <br />
