46 <br />Councilman Whitaker and Councilman Hutchison discussed with the Council their <br />meeting with local insurance agencies regarding Workmen's Compensation In- <br />surance coverage for the City of Paris. <br />City Manager Sweatt advised the Council of the possible 75% grant of the Soil <br />Conservation Service on the drainage and erosion control work at Cox Field. <br />The 1974 -75 Budget had anticipated a 50% grant. <br />At 10:15, Mayor Brunette announced that the Council would go into an executive <br />session, for the purpose of discussing a personnel matter. <br />At 10:40 P. M., Mayor Brunette declared the executive session concluded and -� <br />opened the Regular Council Meeting. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Whitaker and seconded by Councilman Stone to <br />adjourn the meeting. Greene, City Clerk <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />September 9, 1974 <br />The Regular Meeting o: the City Council of the City of Paris on September 9,� <br />1974, at 7:00 P. M., was called to order by Mayor J. M. Brunette, with the <br />following Councilmen present: Doyle Whitaker, Joe King, Brad Hutchison, <br />W. M. (Dub) Moore, Sam M. Stone, and O. L. Rainey. Also present were City <br />Manager K. R. Sweatt, City Attorney T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. <br />Greene. <br />prayer was offered by Rector Thomas Pantle, Holy Cross Episcopal Church. <br />Mayor Brunette asked if there were any additions or corrections to the <br />Minutes of the previous meetings, as furnished the members of the Council. <br />There being none, the Minutes were approved. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the first order of business would be-consi- <br />deration of recommendations contained in the minutes of. the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission meeting held on September 3, 1974. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the Public Hearing open on the petition of Jessie <br />Wagner and others to change from a Heavy Industrial District to a Two - <br />Family Dwelling District, Lots b, 7, 8, 9, 13, and 14, City Block 171. <br />Mayor Brunette called for proponents to appear and Mrs. Juanita Wagner, <br />Mrs. Druella Jones and Mrs. Margie Hargrove appeared in behalf of the <br />petition. Mrs. Wagner stated that a portion of her home had been torn <br />down, and the City Engineering Department had refused a building permit <br />because of the Heavy Industrial District classification. <br />Mayor Brunette called for opponents to appear and Mr. Don bicLaughlin ap- <br />peared in behalf of the Paris Milling Company objecting to change fron <br />Heavy Industrial District to Tiro - Family Dwelling District, but not op- <br />posing the non - conforming use of the residences in the area. - <br />
