46 Councilman Whitaker and Councilman Hutchison discussed with the Council their meeting with local insurance agencies regarding Workmen's Compensation In- surance coverage for the City of Paris. City Manager Sweatt advised the Council of the possible 75% grant of the Soil Conservation Service on the drainage and erosion control work at Cox Field. The 1974 -75 Budget had anticipated a 50% grant. At 10:15, Mayor Brunette announced that the Council would go into an executive session, for the purpose of discussing a personnel matter. At 10:40 P. M., Mayor Brunette declared the executive session concluded and -� opened the Regular Council Meeting. A motion was made by Councilman Whitaker and seconded by Councilman Stone to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried: 5 ayes, 0 nays. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. Greene, City Clerk MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL September 9, 1974 The Regular Meeting o: the City Council of the City of Paris on September 9,� 1974, at 7:00 P. M., was called to order by Mayor J. M. Brunette, with the following Councilmen present: Doyle Whitaker, Joe King, Brad Hutchison, W. M. (Dub) Moore, Sam M. Stone, and O. L. Rainey. Also present were City Manager K. R. Sweatt, City Attorney T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. Greene. prayer was offered by Rector Thomas Pantle, Holy Cross Episcopal Church. Mayor Brunette asked if there were any additions or corrections to the Minutes of the previous meetings, as furnished the members of the Council. There being none, the Minutes were approved. Mayor Brunette announced that the first order of business would be-consi- deration of recommendations contained in the minutes of. the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting held on September 3, 1974. Mayor Brunette declared the Public Hearing open on the petition of Jessie Wagner and others to change from a Heavy Industrial District to a Two - Family Dwelling District, Lots b, 7, 8, 9, 13, and 14, City Block 171. Mayor Brunette called for proponents to appear and Mrs. Juanita Wagner, Mrs. Druella Jones and Mrs. Margie Hargrove appeared in behalf of the petition. Mrs. Wagner stated that a portion of her home had been torn down, and the City Engineering Department had refused a building permit because of the Heavy Industrial District classification. Mayor Brunette called for opponents to appear and Mr. Don bicLaughlin ap- peared in behalf of the Paris Milling Company objecting to change fron Heavy Industrial District to Tiro - Family Dwelling District, but not op- posing the non - conforming use of the residences in the area. -
