47 Mayor Brunette declared the Public Hearing closed and discussion was had. A motion was made by Councilman Whitaker and seconded'by Councilman Stone that the former use of the property be continued, in as much as the City Council finds the non - conforming use had not discontinued. The motion' carried: 6 ayes, O nays. Mayor Brunette declared. the Public Hearing open on the petition of Harold Dean Kirtley to change from an Agricultural District to a General Retail District, Lot 3A, City Block 318. Councilman Rainey requested permission to leave the Council Chambers- during the consideration of this- petition. Motion was made by Councilman Whitaker and seconded by-Councilman Hutchi- son that Councilman Rainey be excused. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. Councilman Rainey departed the Council Chambers.- Mayor Brunette called for proponents to appear and Mr. A.- W. Clear appeared in behalf of the petitioners.
