W <br />City Manager Sweatt advised the Council that substantial error was made in <br />preparation of specifications for the equipment and therefore the wide <br />variance and price differentials. City Manager Sweatt recommended that all <br />bids be rejected and that the equipment be re -bid with revised specifica- <br />tions to be received on October 9, 1974. After discussion, Mayor Brunette <br />appointed a committee composed of Councilman Whitaker, Councilman Rainey, <br />Councilman Hutchison, to study the bid and specifications and call for a <br />Special Council Meeting, Tuesday evening, September 17, 1974, at 5:15 P. <br />to consider the Committee's recommendation. <br />Resolution No. 16342 authorizing the pity of Paris to process an applica- <br />tion for grant from the Texas Criminal Justice Council for micro -film <br />equipment was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Whitaker and se- <br />conded by Councilman Rainey that the Resolution be adopted. The motion <br />carried: 6 ayes, O nays. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1634 . <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is aware of <br />the fact that the Paris Police Department could better serve the <br />citizens of Paris, Lamar County and this region if a modern docu- <br />ment storage and retrieval system were installed; and, <br />WHEREAS, in order to finance the purchase of such a system, <br />it is necessary for the City of Paris to avail itself of funds made <br />available through grants by the Texas Criminal Justice Council; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the City of Paris process an application for grant <br />from the Texas Criminal Justice Council, to assist in. <br />financing the project entitled "Paris Police Document <br />Storage and Retrieval Project ", at a total cost of <br />$14, 556.00, to be furnished by C. J. C. <br />2. That Loyd Mathews, Chief, Paris Police Department, <br />be, and he is hereby appointed Project. Director of <br />said project. <br />3. That Harold Greene, Director of Finance, be, and he <br />is hereby appointed Financial Officer of said project. <br />4. That Kerry Richard Sweatt, City Manager, be, and he <br />is hereby authorized and directed to execute and de- <br />liver, on behalf of the City of Paris, the necessary <br />applications, communications, instruments and docu- <br />ments necessary for the completion of said project.. <br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of September, 1974. <br />�' <br />• - -� - 1 <br />- <br />ATTEST: <br />H.
