90 <br />Discussion was had on the annexation of industrial property outside the City Limits, <br />after which a motion was made by Councilman Hutchison and seconded by Councilman <br />Rainey to defer action on the matter. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette informed the Council of the necessity for setting a Council Meeting <br />date for 7:00 P. M., October 30, 1974, as required by the Charter of the City of Paris <br />for canvassing the returns of the Special Election of October 22, 1974. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Councilman Moore that the Special <br />meeting be called for 7:00 P. M., October 30, 1974. The motion carried: 6 ayes, <br />0 nays. <br />Dr. Richard Swint appeared before the Council requesting that the perimeter road <br />on the North Side of Lake Crook be kept open to afford access to property owned by <br />Dr. Swint. Dr. Swint made two other requests, (1) that the City maintain the pre- <br />sent road, and (2) that an easement from his property to the present road be granted. <br />The matter was referred to the City Manager for his study and recommendations at <br />the next regular Council meeting. <br />Discussion was had on the advisability of the City of Paris to participate in the <br />activities, pay dues, and belong to the Texas Utility Advisory Committee. It was <br />the concensus of -the Council that the City participate in the activities of the <br />Committee. <br />Mr. Robert Hayter, Consulting Engineer for the Sewer Treatment Plant Project, ap- <br />peared before the Council and stated that part of the new Sewer Treatment Plant was <br />now in operation and that he would recommend that October 12, 1974 be the date to <br />discontinue liquidated damages to the Elm Fork Construction Company, and that on <br />October 15, 1974, that electrical and water services be transferred from the Elm <br />Fork Construction Company to the City of Paris. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />MAYOR J.
