2 9.4 RESOLUTION NO. 1673 . WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did in Resolution No. 1418, dated April. 26, 1971, declare the necessity for preserving and expanding Cox Field in accordance with the needs of the community and area and did therein provide for planning in the form of an Airport Master Plan; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did in Resolution No. 1606 authorize the upgrading of facilities at Cox Field by extension of existing r. unways, installation of hi ;her intensity light- 0 and others, as the same appears in the Master Plan for Cox I.i ield, at a cost not to exceed $39X, 957. 00, and did authorize applications for grants to finance the same; and, WHEREAS, the City Council did in Resolution No. 1658 accept a bid and authorized the execution of a contract to accomplish the hereinabove described improvements; and, WHEREAS, to accomplish the extension of the runway hereto- fore approved at Cox field, it is necessary that avigation easements, in accordance with FAA, Cox Field Master Plan and plans and sp cifi cations for the North -South Runway Extension and Related Improvements,. Field, Paris, Texas, be procured; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE-, CITY COUNCIL; OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That the City Manager, Kerry R. Sweatt, be, and he is hereby authorized to offer up to the appraised value for avigation easements necessary for the North -South Runway Extension and Related Improve- ments, Cox Field, Paris, Texas, Project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, if the offer made for said avigation easements be not acceptable to the property owners, that the City Attorney, T. K. Haynes, be, and he is hereby authorized to insti- tute eminent domain proceedings for the procurement of the same. Passed and adopted this 24th day of March, 1975. AT7`I�ST: , I C;.
