The motion <br />carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />-City Manager Sweatt advised the Council that in accordance with previous instructions <br />from the Council, an ordinance had been prepared in relation to parking on Jefferson <br />Road. <br />Ordinance No. 2228: <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1406, ARTICLE XXI, SECTION <br />2, OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, "PARKING PROHIBITED AT <br />ALL TIMES IN DESIGNATED PLACES'', BY-ADDING THERETO: BOTH SIDES <br />OF F. M. HIGHWAY 1507 (JEFFERSON ROAD), FROM THE EAST RIGHT OF <br />WAY LINE OF STATE HIGHWAY 24 TO THE WEST RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF <br />27TH /30TH STREET, S. E.; PROVIDING FOR A FINE OF NOT LESS THAN <br />$3.00 NOR MORE THAN $200.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CON- <br />FLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JULY 1, <br />1975." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman King and seconded by Councilman Stone <br />that a special meeting be called for 5:15 P. M., June 23, 1975 to consider the annexa- <br />tion ordinance on first read.ing. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the next order of business would be consideration of ap- <br />proval of a contract with the Cass Ambulance Service, Inc. for a two year period, be- <br />ginning September 1, 1975. <br />Dr. James L. Clifford appeared before the Council, stating that charges for repeti- <br />tious routine ambulance service were too high. <br />After discussion, Resolution No. 1689, authorizing and directing the mayor to execute <br />on behalf of the City of Paris a contract between the. City of Paris and the County of <br />Lamar and Cass Ambulance Service, Inc., was presented.- A motion was made by Councilman <br />Whitaker and seconded by Councilman King for the adoption of the resolution. The mo-- <br />tion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
