197 <br />Ordinance No. 2210: <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR <br />THE REPEAL OF ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 25, WHICH INCLUDES SECTIONS <br />25 -43 THROUGH 25 -66, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AND DECLARING THE SAME TO BE NULL AND VOID AND OF <br />NO EFFECT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN <br />CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF FEBRUARY <br />10, 1975." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Hutchison and seconded by Councilman <br />King that the ordinance be adopted. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette called for the receipt of bids for City Depository for the two year <br />period, beginning March 1, 1975. Bids were received from the Liberty National Bank <br />and the Paris Bank of Texas. City Manager Sweatt recommended that decision on the bids <br />be tabled for a study by the staff, and that a special meeting be called for presenta- <br />tion of the recommendation.. A motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by <br />Councilman Stone to table the awarding of the bids until a later date. The motion <br />carried: 6 ayes, O nays. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Hutchison and seconded by Councilman Rainey that a <br />Special. Meeting be called for February 17, 1975 at 5:15 P. M. in the. Council Room <br />of the Municipal Building for consideration of recommendations on the bids for City <br />Depository. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette called for the receipt of the tabulation of bids received for Micro- <br />film Equipment. City Manager Sweatt advised the Council that 2 bids had been received <br />from the 3 -M Company and the Bell and Howell Company, and further advised that the <br />staff was in the process of reviewing the bids for a recommendation and recommended <br />to defer final award of the bids to a future meeting. A motion was made'by Council- <br />man King and seconded by Councilman Rainey that the recommendation of the city mana- <br />ger be approved. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays° <br />Mayor Brunette called for a report on the bids for renovation of the Maxey Museum. <br />City Manager Sweatt advised that the Texas Parks and Wildlife had posed some signifi- <br />cant questions that led. to the issue of a change order to the proposed bids deferring <br />receipt of bids until a future date. A motion was made by Councilman Rainey and <br />seconded by Councilman King to ratify the action of the city manager to delay the <br />receipt of bids-until a future date. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays.. <br />City Manager Sweatt presented a request in behalf of Mr. Wallace Smith from Lamar <br />County Water Supply Corporation for-water service in the Gray area, such service, to <br />be obtained from existing Lamar County Water Supply Corporation lines: A motion was <br />made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Councilman Stone the request be approved. <br />The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 1660, authorizing the mayor to execute on behalf of the City of Paris <br />contractual agreements for right -of -way utility adjustments, dated February 10, <br />1975 between the State of Texas, the City of Paris, and Lone Star Gas Company, was <br />presented. A motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Councilman Moore <br />that the resolution be adopted. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
