Mayor Brunette called for discussion from Solid Waste Authority bidders prior to <br />hearing a committee report, the committee being appointed at the last regular Council <br />C Meeting to study such bids and make recommendations to the City Council. Mr.. Ken <br />LaBarge, representing Sanitex Company, a division of Lone Star Energy Company, made <br />a presentation to the Council. Mr. Don McLaughlin, Attorney, appeared in behalf of <br />Western Refuse Company of Texas and made a presentation for that firm. <br />Mayor Brunette called for a report from the committee appointed to study the authority <br />bids, and Councilman Stone reported that his committee concurs with the statement of <br />the Solid Waste Authority Executive Committee to consider the Sanitex Company as the <br />company with which the Authority pursue contract development investigations. After . <br />discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Stone and seconded by Councilman King to <br />approve the committee report and recommendations. The motion carried.: 5 for, 1 <br />abstaining. <br />Resolution No. 1659, commending the Paris Key Club for their participation in the <br />Traffic Safety Department program of inventorying sign and signal equipment in the -- <br />City of Paris, was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Hutchison and seconded <br />by Councilman Rainey that the resolution be adopted. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />RESOLU'T'ION NO. 1659 . <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has recently inventoried the <br />City's Traffic Control Signs and Signals; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Paris High School Key Club did participate <br />in making said inventory and did enable said project to be completed <br />in a relatively short period of time; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to recognize the Paris <br />High School Key Club's contribution in the field of civic service; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF -THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, That Paris High School Key Club, be, and it is hereby <br />commended for its service to the City of Paris. <br />Passed and adopted this 10th day of February, 1975. <br />aA.ies M.
