- 397 <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />June 30, 1975 <br />A Special Meeting of the City Council was held on June 30, 1975 at 5:15 P. M. <br />Mayor James M. Brunette called the meeting to order with the foil -owing Councilmen <br />present: Joe King, Doyle Whitaker, W. M. (Dub) Moore, and Sam M. Stone. Also pre- <br />sent were City Manager K. R. Sweatt, City Attorney T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk <br />H. C. Greene. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the first order of business would be consideration of <br />the request of the Red River Valley Fair Association for revision of a lease agree- <br />ment, such agreement being authorized by Resolution No. 1690. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented amendments to the lease agreement as contained in <br />Resolution No. 1690 including changing from 30 to 90 days of default. <br />Mr. Glenn Lowe appeared before the Council and requested that the parking areas. <br />be excluded from recovery provisions in the lease. Mr. Haynes advised that it would <br />be most difficult to define the parking areas. <br />Councilman Stone commented that to protect the future interest of the fair and Fair <br />Association and to inform future Councils that the minutes could reflect the inten- <br />tion of the present Council for the ongoing.success of the fair. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Stone and seconded by Councilman <br />Moore to receive the report of the city attorney concerning the amendments. The <br />motion carried: 5 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 1696, amending Resolution No. 1690, concerning the lease agreement of <br />the City of Paris to the Red River Valley Fair. Association, was presented..The mo- <br />tion was made by Councilman Stone and seconded. by Councilman King-for the.adoption - <br />of the resolution. The motion carried: 5 -ayes, O nays. <br />
