in 1975 at a higher rate in order to establish an increased allowable charge in 1976 <br />for Medicare - Medicaid patients. <br />City Manager Sweatt suggested that. the allowed additional benefits during the-two month <br />period accrue to the City /County and that the City and the County subsidy be reduced <br />in a similar amount. <br />Dr. James Clifford appeared before the Council stating that the-Delta Ambulance Ser- <br />vice would provide service within the City of Paris at $7.50 one way - $15.00 round <br />trip to his clinic. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman King and seconded by Councilman Ster- <br />ling to leave the rates as is. The motion failed, showing 2 for, 3 against the motion. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Hutchison and seconded by Councilman Moore that the <br />rates be changed, effective 12:00 midnight, June 23, T975, to those rates that were <br />to become effective September 1, 1975. <br />City Attorney Haynes questioned the legality of the rate change without close study <br />of the contract. Councilman Moore withdrew his second to the motion, and Councilman <br />Hutchison withdrew his motion. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Hutchison and seconded by Councilman Moore to defer <br />action on the request to the June 30, 1975 special council meeting. The motion <br />carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented a petition from James Farris for re- zoning of part <br />of Lot 28, Block 249, from General Retail District to General Retail District - <br />Specific Use Permit - Auto Fuel Sales. <br />Mayor Brunette referred the petition to the Planning and Zoning Commission for their <br />study and recommendation and called for a public hearing at the next regular council <br />meeting. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />MAYOR JAMES M.
