264 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />March 10, 1975 <br />The Regular Meeting of the City Council was held on March 10, 1975 at 7:00 P. M. <br />Mayor James M. Brunette called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen <br />present: Doyle Whitaker, Joe King, Brad Hutchison, W. M. (Dub) Moore, and Sam M. <br />Stone. Also present were City Manager K. R. Sweatt, City Attorney T. K. Haynes, <br />and City Clerk H. C. Greene. <br />Prayer was offered by Reverend Julian Hendren, minister of Central Presbyterian Church. <br />Mayor Brunette asked if there were any corrections or additions to the minutes of the <br />previous meetings as furnished the members of the Council. There being none, the <br />minutes were approved. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the first order of business would be consideration of <br />recommendation made by the Planning and Zoning Commission at its meeting on March 6, <br />1975.- <br />i1ayor Brunette declared. the public hearing open on the petition of Jim F. Kirby to re- <br />zone Lot 35B, City Block 249, from Neighborhood Service District to General Retail <br />District. The Planning and Zoning Commission had voted in ft,,/or of re-zoning, as <br />requested.. <br />City Attorney Haynes explained that the property was approximately 180 feet on Clarks- <br />ville Street, extending north approximately 372 feet. Mr. Haynes, acting on behalf <br />of Pair. Kirby, advised that Mr. Kirby understood and was in agreement with screening <br />of the property on adjoining residential property sides and with construction of the <br />proposed street on the west side of his property to be paved when the property is <br />developed. Mr. Jim Kirby was present in the audience. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing closed. <br />Ordinance 2211: <br />"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING <br />MAP Or" SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR) ON LOT <br />35D, CITY BLOCK 249, UPON PROPERTY OF WHICH JIM F. KIRBY 014NS A CUR- <br />RENT OPTION, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED <br />AS A NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE DISTRICT (NS), AND DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES <br />OF THE GENERAL RETAIL DISTRICT (GR), SO ESTABLISHED." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Stone and seconded by Councilman Rainey <br />for the approval of the ordinance. The motion carried: 7 ayes, O nays. <br />On the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission concerning the naming <br />of 27/30th Street, Mayor Brunette appointed a committee composed of Councilman Hutchi- <br />son and Councilman Moore to study the situation and make a recommendation at the next <br />regular Council Meeting. <br />City Attorney Haynes presented the final plat of Tanglewood No. 7. A motion was made <br />by Councilman King and seconded by Councilman Rainey that the final plat be approved, <br />
