71 <br />City Manager Sweatt requested authorization to advertise for bids for traffic signal <br />material for construction of a signal at the intersection of 27th /30th Street and <br />Clarksville Street, such bids to be received at 10:00 A. M. on May 5, 1976, tabu - <br />lated,'and presented to the City Council at its. regular meeting on May 10, 1976. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Whitaker and seconded by Councilman Rainey to ap- <br />prove the request of the city manager. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt requested authorization to advertise for bids for window co- <br />verings for the Municipal Building, such.bids to be.received until 10:00 A. M. on <br />May 5, 1976, tabulated, and presented to the City Council at its regular meeting <br />on May.10, 1976. .,A motion was.made by Councilman Moore and seconded by Councilman <br />Rainey to approve the .request of the city manager. The motion carried: 7 ayes,. 0 <br />nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt presented a., request from. Mr.. Cloyd.Scroggins for water service <br />outside the City limits in the "gray area" to be served-by the Lamar County Water <br />Corporation, such connection to be on Highway 82 approximately 2600 feet east of <br />the present City limits. A motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by <br />Councilman Stone to approve the request subject to standard requirements. The mo- <br />.tion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ordinance No. 2283: <br />"AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING THREE MEMBERS TO THE EQUALIZATION <br />BOARD OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, TO SERVE FOR THE <br />CURRENT TAXABLE YEAR, ESTABLISHING THE TIME FOR THE FIRST <br />MEETING OF THE EQUALIZATION BOARD, ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF <br />PAY FOR THE MEMBERS OF SAID BOARD, AND' PROVIDING'FOR AN EF- <br />FECTIVE DATE." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman King and seconded by Councilman Ster <br />.ling for the adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt presented a request from the Kiwanis Club to change the dates <br />for use of the Market Square from April 27 - May 1, 1976 to May 17 - May 22, 1976. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Councilman Sterling to ap- <br />prove the request.
