City Manager Sweatt presented a tabulation of the equipment and recom- mended that the Automatic Signal Company be awarded.the bid in the amount of $9,591.20. A motion was made by Councilman Hinds and seconded by Councilman Williams to approve the recommendation of the city manager. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Brunette called.for tabulation of bids on window coverings for the new remodeled Municipal Building. City Manager Sweatt presented the tabulation and recommended that the bid be awarded to the Robin Manufacturing Company, Dallas, Texas, in the amount of $1,160.00. A motion was made by Councilman Fisher and seconded by Councilman Williams to approve the bid of the Robin Manufacturing Company. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Sweatt advised the Council it would be necessary.to set a public hearing for street assessments on FM 1507 for curb and gutter from Highway 24 east to the new Paris High School. Ordinance No. 2288: "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE DATE FOR A PUBLIC.HEARING_ON.PROPERTY ON F.-.M. HIGHWAY NO. 1507, FROM THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF STATE HIGHWAY 19 AND 24, EAST TO THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF PARIS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPERTY, 1.585 MILES, IN THE -CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF PARIS TO PUBLISH THE SAME THREE (3) TIMES IN THE PARIS NEWS AS RE- QUIRED BY LAM; APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE FINAL ESTIMATE OF COSTS AND CONSTRUCTION PLANS OF SUCH STREET AND .HIGHWAY IM- PROVEMENTS PREPARED -BY THE TEXAS HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT AND FUR- NISHED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF PARIS AND FILED WITH THE CITY COUNCIL; FIXING THE CHARGES TO BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE ABUTTING PROPERTY - OWNERS AND THE CHARGES TO BE PAID BY THE CITY OF PARIS; AND`WITH THE INTENTION OF FIXING A CHARGE AND LIEN AGAINST THE REAL AND TRUE OWNERS OF SAID PROPERTY AND AGAINST THE SAID'PROPERTY ITSELF." :+;as presented.
