734 <br />Mayor Brunette announced that it was appropriate for the designation of 2 members of <br />the Council to serve on the City school committee. Mayor Brunette appointed himself <br />and Councilman Rainey to serve.on the committee. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Hinds and seconded by Councilman Stone to confirm the appointments. The motion car- <br />ried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette advised the Council that it was appropriate to appoint a committee <br />to serve with the Chamber of Commerce Advertising and Promotion Committee and appointed <br />Mayor Brunette, City Manager Sweatt, and Councilman Fisher to serve on the committee. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Councilman Williams to con- <br />firm the appointments. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the Council would go into executive session regarding <br />litigation and related matters. <br />Mr. Don McLaughlin and City Attorney Haynes discussed litigation with the Cou -ncil. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the executive session closed and the regular meeting open. No <br />action was taken regarding the executive session. <br />City Manager Sweatt requested that a date be set for a budget workshop and that a <br />place be designated.. A motion was made by Councilman Philley and seconded by Council - <br />man Williams to hold the budget workshop at Rivercrest on May 229, 1976.
