7 3E) <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />May 28, 1976 - <br />A special meeting of the City Council was held in the Municipal Court Room at <br />811 Bonham Street at 5:15 P. M. on May 28, 1976. Mayor James M..Brunette called <br />the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: George Fisher, Jr.; <br />Ben Hinds, David Philley, 0. L. Rainey, Jimmy Don Stone, and Walter F. Williams. <br />Also present were City Manager K. R. Sweatt, City Attorney T. K. Haynes, and City <br />Clerk H. C. Greene. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the special meeting was called for the purpose of the <br />receipt of the proposed budget as presented by the city manager for the fiscal year <br />beginning July 1, 1976. City Manager Sweatt presented the proposed budget for the <br />fiscal year 1975 -77 and recommended that June 8th or, 9th be'called for a public <br />hearing. <br />Councilman Philley recommended that most of the revenue sharing funds be placed <br />in Sanitary Landfill renovation. <br />A motion was 'made by Councilman Hinds and seconded by Councilman Rainey to receive <br />the budget and, Wall for a public hearing for Jane 8, 1976, 5:15 P. M. Tree motion <br />carried: 5 ayes, 2 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt presented a request from Mrs. Goldie G. Welch for water con- <br />nection outside the city limits in the "gray area ". A motion was made by Council- <br />man Rainey and seconded by Councilman Williams to approve the request. The motion <br />carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt presented a request from Willaim H. Curry, Jr. for water con- <br />nection outside the city limits, such connection to be connected to the City water, <br />system. A motion was made by Councilman Hinds and seconded by Councilman Fisher <br />to approve the request. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />An annexation Ordinance <br />"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY <br />LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND THE.ANNEXATI.ON. <br />OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 12.127 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, <br />WHICH IS LESS THAN TEN PER CENT (10 %) OF THE TERRITORY INCLUDED <br />WITHIN ITS PRESENT CITY LIMITS, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES AD- <br />JACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS." <br />was presented. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the Council would go into executive session. City <br />Attorney Haynes discussed personal matters with the City Council. Mayor Brunette <br />declared the executive session closed and the regular meeting open. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Councilman Williams to ad- <br />journ the meeting.
