7 3E) MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL May 28, 1976 - A special meeting of the City Council was held in the Municipal Court Room at 811 Bonham Street at 5:15 P. M. on May 28, 1976. Mayor James M..Brunette called the meeting to order with the following Councilmen present: George Fisher, Jr.; Ben Hinds, David Philley, 0. L. Rainey, Jimmy Don Stone, and Walter F. Williams. Also present were City Manager K. R. Sweatt, City Attorney T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. Greene. Mayor Brunette announced that the special meeting was called for the purpose of the receipt of the proposed budget as presented by the city manager for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1976. City Manager Sweatt presented the proposed budget for the fiscal year 1975 -77 and recommended that June 8th or, 9th be'called for a public hearing. Councilman Philley recommended that most of the revenue sharing funds be placed in Sanitary Landfill renovation. A motion was 'made by Councilman Hinds and seconded by Councilman Rainey to receive the budget and, Wall for a public hearing for Jane 8, 1976, 5:15 P. M. Tree motion carried: 5 ayes, 2 nays. City Manager Sweatt presented a request from Mrs. Goldie G. Welch for water con- nection outside the city limits in the "gray area ". A motion was made by Council- man Rainey and seconded by Councilman Williams to approve the request. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. City Manager Sweatt presented a request from Willaim H. Curry, Jr. for water con- nection outside the city limits, such connection to be connected to the City water, system. A motion was made by Councilman Hinds and seconded by Councilman Fisher to approve the request. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. An annexation Ordinance "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND THE.ANNEXATI.ON. OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 12.127 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, WHICH IS LESS THAN TEN PER CENT (10 %) OF THE TERRITORY INCLUDED WITHIN ITS PRESENT CITY LIMITS, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES AD- JACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS." was presented. Mayor Brunette announced that the Council would go into executive session. City Attorney Haynes discussed personal matters with the City Council. Mayor Brunette declared the executive session closed and the regular meeting open. A motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Councilman Williams to ad- journ the meeting.
