757 <br />Mayor Brunette called for an ordinance authorized at the July 9, 1976 Council meeting. <br />Ordinance No. 2298: <br />"AN ORIDNANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING <br />THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BE <br />AMENDED BY REVISING THE TRAFFIC NO PARKING MAP ADOPTED IN <br />PARAGRAPH (c) OF SECTION 29 -112 OF SAID CODE; ESTABLISHING NO <br />PARKING AREAS ON THE EAST AND WEST SIDES OF 11TH STREET, N. E., <br />BEGINNING AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF <br />PINE BLUFF STREET, THENCE NORTH A DISTANCE OF 50 FEET; PRO- <br />VIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $200.00; REPEALING ALL OR- <br />DINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 1, 1976." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Hinds and seconded by Councilman <br />Fisher for the adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette called for a report from the committee appointed to study the request <br />of the City of C Ooper for the furnishing of water by the City of Paris. City Mana- <br />ger Sweatt, speaking in behalf of the committee, stated that the committee composed <br />of Mayor Brunette,_ Councilman Williams, and the city manager, had met with the City- <br />of Cooper and its representatives-and other members of the City staff and had begun <br />preliminary discussion regarding the matter. He stated that due to distribution <br />system questions, this matter was exceedingly complex and the committee has asked <br />for more detailed reports from the engineering department before the committee will <br />be in a position to completely evaluate and make recommendations..:. <br />City Manager Sweatt recommended that any action be deferred in order that the City <br />engineering department could make a study and develop data as to sizing of lines <br />and demands of City of Cooper, etc. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Philley and seconded by Councilman Fisher to receive <br />the report. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt recommended rental rates be set on new T- hangars at Cox Field at <br />$45.00 per month with a review at the conclusion of a two -year period with periodic <br />adjustments thereof. to achieve a pay -back in no more than a total of 15 years: He <br />further recommended an increase of $5.00 per month in the current rate for open bay <br />hangar storage that would provide a rate of $30.00 per month for single and $40.00 <br />per month for twin engine aircraft. City Manager Sweatt concurred with the recom- <br />mendation of the Airport Advisory Board to increase by $5.00 per month, rental on <br />the three old T- hangars from $15.00 per month to $20.00 per month. Mr. Sweatt re- <br />commended that rate adjustments be timed to coincide with implementation of the new <br />rate-schedule and occupancy of the new T- hangars. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Hinds and seconded by Councilman Williams to approve the recommendation of the city <br />manager and the Airport Advisory Board. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 1 nay, Coun- <br />cilman Swaim voting nay. <br />City Manager Sweatt presented a request for water service in the "gray area" by the <br />Cleveland Farm and Ranch Center, property located at the northeast corner of U. S. <br />Highway 82 and a street previously identified as 46th Street N. E. City Manager <br />Sweatt recommended the request be approved subject to the standard conditions. A <br />motion was made by Councilman Swaim and seconded by Councilman Williams to approve <br />the request subject to the standard conditions of the City. The motion carried: <br />7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
