RESOLUTION NO. 1737 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has recently established the assessment and collection of a hotel occupancy tax.; and, WHEREAS, the -City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of contracting with the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County to use such funds so collected for promoting and advertising the City of Paris, upon the terms and conditions contained in the con- tract attached hereto as Exhibit A; anal, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris desires to establish a permanent committee, composed of the Mayor of the City of Paris, one Councilman. of the City of Paris and the City Manager of the City of Paris, which committee shall review and approve the proposed program of work provided for in such contract; and, f WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris, James M. Brunette, does hereby recommend for appointment for the Councilman position an said committee, Lloyd S. Sterling; to serve through December 31, 1977; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That the Mayor of the City of Paris, James M. Brunette, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed. to execute on behalf of the City of Parrs, a contract with the Chamber of - Commerce of Lamar County, upon the terms and conditions and in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a committee -be, and the same is hereby appointed, consisting of the Mayor of the City = . of Paris, the City Manager of . the City of Paris and Councilman z Lloyd S. Sterling to serve as the committee to review and approve the proposed program of work of the Chamber under the . contract attached hereto as Exhibit A.
