653 <br />Resolution No. 1739, authorizing and directing City Manager Sweatt to matte applica- <br />tion to the Texas Criminal Justice Division for a grant for a one year's maintenance <br />for the Police Department't high speed land -line communication systems and to exe- <br />cute an agreement for such system, was presented. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Sterling and seconded by Councilman Stone for the adoption of the resolution. The <br />motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1739 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, agrees to enter <br />into an agreement with the Ark -Tex Council of Governments to <br />apply for a grant to the Texas Criminal Justice Division of the <br />Governor's Office f ©r the cost of one year's maintenance for the <br />Departments using the High Speed Landlne Communications System, <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the application for maintenance is based on the <br />Texas Criminal Justice Division's participation of 8570. and local <br />participation in the amount of 15570; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Texas Criminal Justice DiVision has agreed to <br />make such grants available on a retroactive basis from November 1, <br />1975 through October 31, 1976? NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and he is <br />hereby authorized and directed to execute such agreements and <br />assurances as are necessary for the continuation and acceptance <br />of the High Speed Landline Communications System maintenance <br />applications. - <br />Passed and adopted this 9th day of February, '1976. <br />} <br />r <br />' Jgs M.
