-Upon request of City Manager Sweatt, Mayor Brunette called for a Budget Workshop for - <br />February 23, 1976, Municipal Building Court Roan at 7:00 P. M. <br />City Manager Sweatt presented.a request from Ernest Randle for -water service outside_ <br />the City limits on Old Bonham Read pending annexation proceedings for Mr. Randle's <br />property. A motion was made by Councilman Sterling and seconded by Councilman Ston <br />to approve the request. The motion carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. — <br />City Manager Sweatt presented a request from Ernest Randle for annexation of his <br />property on Old Bonham Road.. Mayor:Brunette referred the request to the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission and authorized.preparation of an ordinance to be presented at <br />the next.regular Council meeting. <br />City Manager Sweatt presented a request from Mr. James Griffin and three other pro - <br />perty owners in the FM 195 area, north of Loop 286, for a consideration of water <br />line extension or purchase of Lamar County Water Supply Corporation lines to serve <br />their area. Mr. Sweatt recommended that the request be referred to the City Mana- <br />ger's office for development of cost information. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Councilman Moore to receive <br />the request and refer to the city manager's office for cost study. The motion. <br />carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt advised the Council of the need for a renewal or extension of the <br />existing franchise ordinance for a depository unit presently in place on First Na- <br />tional Bank property. <br />Ordinance.No. - <br />"AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO THE FIRST NATIONAL BANK <br />OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, TO USE A PORTION OF THE SPACE ABOVE <br />AND UNDER THE SURFACE OF THE SIDEWALK ON THE WEST SIDE OF 1ST - <br />STREET, N. W., BEGINNING 32 -1/6 FEET NORTH OF THE INTERSECTION <br />OF THE STREET CURB ON THE WEST SIDE OF SAID 1ST STREET, N. W. <br />WITH THE STREET CURB ON THE -NORTH SIDE -OF BONHAM STREET FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF MAINTAINING A PUBLIC SERVICE INSTALLATION <br />KNOWN AS A DEPOSITORY; PROVIDING FOR A TERM OF TWENTY -FIVE <br />- (25) YEARS; AND FIXING THE RENTAL-THEREFOR."- <br />was- presented. A`motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Councilman <br />King for approval of the ordinance on the first of three readings. The motion <br />carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />City Manager Sweatt recommended a change order to the contract at Cox Field for the <br />runway extension project for installation and upgrading of wiring for taxi -way <br />lighting equipment at the cost of approximately $2,350.00. A motion was made by <br />Councilman Sterling and seconded by Councilman Rainey authorizing the change order <br />to the Airport Extension Project contract.
