Mr. Roy M. Welch appeared before the Council in behalf of the Paris. Kiwanis Club - <br />requesting use of the Market Square for a carnival to be operated April. 27 - May 1, <br />1976. A motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by Councilman King to <br />deny the request. Mayor Brunette polled the Council, showing 2 ayes, 4 nays, Coun- <br />cilman Sterling, Councilman Stone, Councilman Whitaker, and Mayor Brunette voting <br />nay. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Whitaker and seconded by Councilman. Sterling to <br />approve the request for the southwest one - third, more or less, and less than one - <br />half of the Market Square to be used by the Kiwanis Club. Mayor Brunette polled <br />the Council showing 4 ayes, 2 nays, Councilman King and Councilman Rainey voting <br />nay. <br />Resolution No. 1744, authorizing the mayor to execute on behalf of the City of Paris <br />a lease agreement with the Boys Club of Paris, Inc., for the ballpark and facilities <br />known as Reece Field, was presented. The motion was made by Councilman Stone and <br />seconded by Councilman Sterling, for the adoption of the resolution. The motion <br />carried: 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1744 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Parrs is interested <br />in cooperating with and supporting the Boys Club of Paris, Inc. in its <br />good work with the youth of our community; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris owns the ball park and facilities <br />known as "Reece Field" and is desirous of making the same available <br />for the Boys Club of Paris, Inc. 's use; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That the Mayor of the City of Paris, ,fames M. Brunette, be, <br />and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the <br />City of Paris a lease agreement with the Boys Club of Paris, Inc., <br />upon the terms and conditions and in the form attached hereto as <br />Exhibit A. <br />Passed and adopted this 8th day of March, 1976. <br />J es run t e, Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />r <br />.
