Mr. Webb. -Biard appeared before the Council representing Mr_ Allie, <br />O'Brien, owner and operator of Yellow Cab Company of Paris, and stated that the Yel -. <br />low Cab Company was prepared to transport passengers at the same rate as the Lamar <br />County Human Resources Council, Inc. proposal with the exception of wheel chairs. <br />Mr. Allie O'Brien appeared before the Council, stating again that he was prepared to <br />transport anyone with the_exception -of wheel chairs, at the same inside City price <br />but not requiring 24. hour. notice of the passengers and that no government support <br />was requested. --- <br />Mr. Gary O'Connor and Mr. Bill Lightfoot appeared.before the Council in behalf of the <br />Lamar County Human Resources Council, Inc. <br />After discussion; Mayor Brunette stated that he would entertain a motion to postpone <br />the third reading of the Franchise Ordinance to the next regular Council meeting in <br />order to determine_if.both sides can agree to a settlement of the matter. A motion <br />was made by Councilman Stone and seconded by Councilman King to table the third <br />reading of the Franchise Ordinance to the next regular Council meeting on May 10, . <br />1976. The motion carried:- 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mrs. Gladys Dennis appeared before the Council and stated that she felt it was.un- <br />fair to delay the decision on the Franchise Ordinance since a change in the Council <br />will occur by a seating of the new Council on April 14, "1976. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the next order of business would be consideration of <br />the Franchise Ordinance to the First National Bank of Paris for depository unit <br />for its third and final reading. <br />Ordinance No. 2281: <br />
