MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, AUGUST 3, 2015 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, August 3, 2015, was <br />called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Holland Harper, Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: Holland Harper, John Lee, Jerry Akers, <br />Barney Bray, Billy Trenado, Mike Folmar and Robert Spain <br />B. Also present were Shawn Napier, Director of Engineering, Planning and <br />Development; Dr. Steve Clifford, City Council and Ashley Fendley, Secretary for <br />the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (July 6, 2015) <br />Motion was made by John Lee, seconded by Barney Bray to approve minutes for the July <br />6, 2015 meeting. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />Motion was made by Holland Harper, seconded by Mike Folmar to combine items 4 <br />through 6; due to the fact the applicant is not the owner of the property located in the 2500 <br />Block of Lamar Avenue. Motion carried 7 -0. <br />3. Public hearing to consider the petition of John House for a change in zoning from a <br />Planned Development District (PD -b) which is a housing development or community unit <br />development in the Planned Development Zoning District to Commercial District (C) on <br />Lots 6 and 7, City Block 331, being located at 3700 Block off. W. Loop 286 <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. One individual spoke in favor. <br />John House, 1446 Clarksville Street Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. <br />House stated he wishes to construct cabins for rental purposes on the southern half <br />of the property and a restaurant with a recreational area on the northern half. <br />B. No one spoke in opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />
