REGULAR MEETING <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2015 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK PM <br />1. The Airport Advisory Board meeting was called to order by Dennis Ashby, Chairman, at <br />5: 30 p. m. <br />A. The following members were present: Dennis Ashby, Gary Tolleson, Chris <br />Fitzgerald, Tim Bullock, Anna Spencer and Paula Portugal <br />B. The following members were absent: Matt Birch <br />C. Also present: John Godwin, City Manager; Jerry Richey, Airport Manager; Ken <br />Higdon, President/CEO Lamar County Chamber of Commerce; and Ashley <br />Fendley, City Staff <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (August 20, 201 S) <br />Motion was made by Gary Tolleson, seconded by Chris Fitzgerald to approve the minutes <br />from August 20, 2015 meetings with corrections. Motion carried 6 -0. <br />3. Report from Jerry Richey, Airport Manager. <br />Jerry Richey, Airport Manager reviewed a map of the airport with the commissioners that <br />showed the different hangars, the terminal building and runways. In reviewing the map <br />Mr. Richey explained to the commission which hangars are city owned hangars and <br />privately owned hangars. Mr. Richey stated that our longest runway is 6,000 feet. We also <br />have GPS approaches on the city runways. Mr. Richey stated that Cox Field is a FBO <br />(fixed -base operator); J.R. Aviation has been around at the airport since February of 1988. <br />Mr. Richey further stated that our plans for next year are to refurbishing hangar H and <br />repaint the terminal building. Paula Portugal asked is there a waiting list for hangars. Jerry <br />Richey responded by stating there is a waiting list with at least 15 people on it. Tim <br />Bullock asked where an individual could build a hangar at the airport. Mr. Richey stated <br />that we have places for individuals to build a privately owned hangar the problem we have <br />is we don't have taxi ways accessing the land. Dennis Ashby asked if the city was to build <br />a concrete pad for you to show individuals that are interest to build a private hangar would <br />that help. Mr. Richey stated that would help the process and he has brought that up in the <br />past. Dennis Ashby asked for Mr. Richey to tell us about the fuel sales. Mr. Richey stated <br />that fuel sales have decreased for small aircraft but our big aircrafts have increased <br />because our local commercial businesses. Paula Portugal asked is it hesitation from City <br />
