REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 EAST KAUFMAN <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />WEDNESDAY, March 9, 2016 <br />Commissioners Present: <br />Ruth Arm Alsobrook- Chair <br />Phillip Peeples <br />Pat Conrad <br />Chris Dux <br />Linda Knox <br />Sarah Barbee <br />Triniti Frazier, Community Development <br />Cheri Bedford,ITPO <br />Matt Frierson- Council Liaison <br />Absent: <br />Cindy Allcom- Secretary, Vice Chair <br />Guests: <br />Alex Pickering Scott Sign <br />Dominique and Liz Spirito, Providence Ranch <br />Coffee Co. <br />1. Call meeting to order- Commissioner Alsobrook called the meeting to order at 4:00 P.M, <br />noting a quorum. <br />2. A motion was made to approve the minutes of February 22, 2016 as presented by <br />Commissioner Dux, seconded by Commissioner Peeples motion carried 6 -0 <br />3. Action taken on Signage on Providence Ranch Store and coffee cafe COA #2016 -008 <br />Providence Ranch Store & Coffee Cafe. 138 Lamar Ave- Alex Pickering Scott signs- Dominic <br />Spirito, Store owner presented signage to be installed on the East and South wall of the <br />building. The amount of square footage requested in the sign needed the approval of the <br />Historic Preservation commission because it was in excess of SO square feet, based on the <br />ordinance Chapter 28, Article 11, section 28 -18. After discussion on various placements of the <br />sign, Commissioner Peoples made a motion to approve the signage as presented, Seconded by <br />Sarah Barbee, Motion carried 6 -0 <br />4. Commissioner Conrad passed out information regarding using Survey Monkey to engage <br />the public on Historic Preservation Commission, and explained a bit of how it could be <br />used. <br />Action taken: <br />Commissioner Alsobrook asked if a subcommittee could research and bring back suggestions <br />to the commission. Commissioner Conrad and Commissioner Barbee offered to be on the <br />subcommittee. They will bring a report back to the board in the future. <br />
