RESOLUTION NO. 98-065 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of May, 1988, in Resolution No. 88-044, authorize a 15% penalty to be added to the delinquent tax accounts in accordance with Section 33.07 of the Texas Property Tax Code; and, WHEREAS, in order to add the 15 % penalty to tax accounts which are delinquent on July 1 of a year, it is necessary for the governing body to direct that the same be added thereto and that the governing body enter into contract with an attorney for the purpose of collection of the delinquent tax accounts; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris to engage Thomas E. Hunt, III as delinquent tax collection attorney; and, WHEREAS, the form of the Professional Service Contract, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the form of the Professional Service Contract with Thomas E. Hunt, III for delinquent tax collection, attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Professional Service Contract with Thomas E. Hunt, III, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of June, 1998. ~iI Charles H.
