<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98-065 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of May, <br />1988, in Resolution No. 88-044, authorize a 15% penalty to be added to the delinquent tax <br />accounts in accordance with Section 33.07 of the Texas Property Tax Code; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to add the 15 % penalty to tax accounts which are delinquent on July <br />1 of a year, it is necessary for the governing body to direct that the same be added thereto and that <br />the governing body enter into contract with an attorney for the purpose of collection of the <br />delinquent tax accounts; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris deems it to be in the best interest of the <br />citizens of Paris to engage Thomas E. Hunt, III as delinquent tax collection attorney; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the form of the Professional Service Contract, attached hereto as Exhibit A, <br />should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, should be authorized to <br />execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the <br />form of the Professional Service Contract with Thomas E. Hunt, III for delinquent tax collection, <br />attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Charles H. Neeley, be, and he is <br />hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Professional Service <br />Contract with Thomas E. Hunt, III, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in <br />Exhibit A, attached hereto. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of June, 1998. <br /> <br />~iI <br /> <br />Charles H.
